Filmmakers Reveal the Truth about George Floyd | Glenn Loury, John McWhorter, Liz Collin & JC Chaix

The Real Story: The Truth About George Floyd’s Death

In a recent episode of “American Thought Leaders,” host Jan Jekielek sits down with Emmy Award-winning reporter Liz Collin, author of “They’re Lying: The Media, the Left, and the Death of George Floyd” and producer of the new narrative-busting documentary, “The Fall of Minneapolis.” Ms. Collin breaks down what really happened the day George Floyd died, what the media left out, and what evidence was withheld at the trial.

[clip]

Mr. Jekielek: You knew the day after these traumatic events that something was really off.

Ms. Collin: The very next day, you have the mayor and the chief of police holding multiple press conferences. I knew the chief called in the FBI that very night, just hours after this unfolded. Clearly, I had a unique perspective with my husband’s job. But as a reporter, you have them holding press conferences and saying things like, “Whatever happened at 38th and Chicago with George Floyd isn’t a part of police training. We’ve never seen this maneuver before.” They also said that George Floyd had never been arrested before, which was not true.

But more than anything, it was the body camera footage from 2020 that they hid from the public. That has never happened before in any type of critical incident. To this day, most people have never seen that entire encounter with George Floyd, which is why we wanted to start the film with just that.

You have George Floyd resistant from the beginning, talking about how he can’t breathe long before Derek Chauvin even arrives on scene.

You have a black officer who arrests George Floyd that day, Alex Kueng. That didn’t fit the narrative, and he'll be the first to tell you that in the film as well. You have Thomas Lane, who calls for an ambulance 36 seconds after George Floyd is placed on the ground. George Floyd himself asks to be placed on the ground because he doesn’t want to get in that squad car. George Floyd is also saying again and again that he didn’t take anything and he’s not on anything. I should also say, regarding this MRT [Maximal Restraint Technique], they make reference to it in the body camera footage as well.

Another case of a pig wrongly arresting a kid for DUI of marijuana 2 months before graduating from high school. This kid is a rising country music singer and wrote a song about it. I hope because of this pig, the kid goes to number 1 with his music. It is incidents like this that cause me to question cops and not trust them. After all of the videos out there, you would think these cops would learn, but they don’t. This just happened in April. Cop admits to his fellow officer that he’s got nothing, but arrests the kid anyway.

One of these days, we’ll figure out that these pigs are not our friends. They are not here to help us. They do not serve us — they serve the apparatus of the State. Full stop.

While it’s important to understand lawful orders — which must be obeyed lest you get a wood shampoo, unlawful orders must be loudly disobeyed. Do not talk to them, do not look at them, do not attempt to reason with them, do not joke with them (they lack a sense of humor). In fact, pay them no more attention than you would a cockroach. And for the love of all that is holy, NEVER submit to a field sobriety test. EVER! The downside of that is that pigs are easily butthurt and they’ll likely go home and beat their wives.

The saddest part is that we’ve allowed this to happen, we’ve done this to ourselves. We love the fact that peace officers have morphed into “up against the wall motherfukker!” officers. They are worshiped as gods. We love politicians who adopt “imma be tough on crime” platforms and are SHOCKED! when suddenly, “out of nowhere” there are more and more things that are crimes for the pigs to be tough on - funny how that works, eh?

The drug detection training offered to officers is just bad. Its an open license to cuff anyone you want.

you guys have some fantastic points! Ever notice how often Ken Jennings says "thats fantastic"?

So, to curb the violent crime, car jackings, multiple shootings, foreign terrorism and mass shoplifting hordes, complete the sentence....

I think we should_____________________________. Take all the time you need.
I think we should have a nuclear war and start over.

What's my prize, Ken?!

I think it was one of the Hodge Twins (don't quote me) that said "half the brothers in Atlanta are on the down low."

A) Punish criminals. Punish foreign ones, then ship them out. Shoplifters get jail but as a monk, no possessions.
B Demand and accept nothing less than a sea change for police regarding accountability. Departments and officers need to STOP covering for bad cops.

yes, very good point. believe it or not, most decent police dont want an idiot working with them either.
what about these appointed citizen overview committees, you know the blue hair transgender sheetmetal face chubby college students that pass judgement?

Cant be outsiders, other than to monitor. The good cops indeed don't want or like the bad cops. But they wont turn them in either. Partially because if they do, the current thin blue line culture means other cops, even the good ones, turn on them. And leadership wont back them, nor will the political class that the department takes orders from.

Until we start charging the Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains and on up the chain of command with covering up and obstruction of obvious infractions it will continue. You lock a couple of them up and fine them, this behavior will change quickly, the attorney generals are just as much to blame.

Agreed. Upper level folks both uniformed and civilian trying to avoid scandal are more to blame for the culture that fosters this stuff. But when bad cops do go down, it rarely takes the chain of people who covered it up with them.

If you hide the bodycam footage. - Guilty.
If you put out a press release with facts that the bodycam footage shows to be untrue. - Guilty
If you write a report with facts that you know to be untrue. - Guilty.
If you know about any of these things and don't blow the whistle - Guilty.

those committees are appointed by elected officials, so those cities/towns will be made up of people that the voters want to oversee the police in their communities. Here in SMC, I would like to think our commissioners have not appointed those demographics that you mentioned, but more sensible people who know how to consider all the facts presented to them before making any rash judgements. But of course, here in SMC, we hopefully elect sheriffs who don't condone this sort of behavior to begin with so the accountability board should never see these cases.
