And don't forget the battery is not replaceable! If the battery loses charging power or dies... your only choice is to buy a new iPhone.

People complained and complained about the iPod when it first came out 5 years ago....too expensive, only works on Macs, why would anyone need so many songs?

Yes, the iPhone won't change the world but it will give more options to persons who can't stand their phones. Every time I type out a text message I feel like breaking my RAZR in half, the day I'm off my verizon contract I'm jumping to the iPhone. The iPhone is not aimed at people who already have treos, it is for regular consumers and I have no doubt that Apple will meet its goal of selling 10 million iPhones over the next year.

and those complaining about price,

Phone ($200) + iPod ($250) + portable internet ($150) = $600 <- plus you don't have to hulk around three devices.

I posted the info reported about the iphone from a TV news program. They specifically said the phone was "sealed" which meant you were stuck with the battery and then they talked about the fact that you couldn't replace the SIMM card. I didn't make it up.

Ron Paul Campaign First to Provide iPhone Platform

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2, 2007

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – The Ron Paul 2008 presidential campaign today became the first campaign to launch an iPhone platform. This new platform will allow iPhone users to access the campaign’s Web 2.0 applications, such as social networking tools and online videos, directly from their iPhones.

"The iPhone is an exciting technology that will help us reach potential voters across the country," states eCampaign director Justine Lam. "The Ron Paul campaign continues to utilize new technologies to spread Dr. Paul’s message of freedom, peace and prosperity."

Terra Eclipse of Santa Cruz, California designed this special platform for the Ron Paul campaign. "Our web development team has built a robust tool that will allow iPhone-equipped volunteers to bring Ron Paul’s online popularity into offline households in key early primary states," says Wyatt Hull, creative director of Terra Eclipse.

The Ron Paul 2008 iPhone platform is available at www.ronpaul2008.com/iphone .

huh....

My phone ($70), 4GB microsd for music and video ($40) = $110
If I wanted portable internet ($10 a month) = 50 months before my phone costs as much as iPhone
Let's face it, portable internet isn't even a point to bring up cause every portable device has it now. My nintendo ds can give me portable internet access for crying out loud.

Fact of the matter is... Apple payed many many moneys in order to advertise iPod and iPhone out the ass everywhere anyone looks. This makes consumers think it's the best choice out there, cause it's the only one everybody talks about/sees.

If I plastered my face all over every advertising space you see in the world and said I was the best lay you could ever get.... I'm sure I'd be just as famous and sought after as the iPhone. I could probably even get people to pay as much too.

My phone cost $300...with MP3/video capability...and wi-fi...and EVDO...and a keyboard...and a touchscreen...and a removable battery...and swapable memory (and miniSD cards are cheap).

So, what does the iPhone do that my year-old phone can't do?

:yeahthat:

My phone cost $120, and $15 for my MicroSD 1GB storage card.

I can play headlines and live video from ESPN, MSNBC, CNN, FOX Sports.

I can watch YouTube videos, etc etc.

I can go on the internet and view websites.

I can play music.

I can talk on the phone.

And it's not AT&T.

Oh , and any Windows Media smartphone has twice the features of the iPhone. It's a ripoff is you ask me.
