I always talk to my pets. One of my cats likes to meow back at me. My son always says "what did he say mommy" and I usually just make up something but I think my son actually believes I know what the cat is saying. Of coarse he is only 4. lol
My dog tilts her head and her ears perk up when I talk to her and nobody else reacts that way when I talk to them ... she knows some English like…
- wanna go outside? (she'll run to the door)
- Go for a ride (again she'll run to the door)
- find your ball (she'll go find it)
- Pee pee (she'll walk off to her spot)
- Poop (again she'll walk of to her spot)
- Are you hungry? (runs to the kitchen)
- Get that kitty (look out the kitty is getting chased)
- Where's your toy? (she'll go get it and bring it back)
- What's that noise? (she'll listen and bark)
I talk to my kid about his grades. It is very similar to talking to a dog. He tilts his head and gives me the stare like he understands what I am saying, yet I know he doesn't.
Do you have a Yorkie ? My Yorkie understands those also !

I used to talk to my girl all the time and trust me, she understood what I was saying and sometimes her expressions would answer back. I miss our conversations. Now,I talk to my granddog and he to listens, but because he's a male, he doesnt always respond the way he should. He usually gives you that turn of the head and then licks his self. LOL, really makes me miss my girl even more.
Cats are worse....
Like, a lot. When we're walking, I'll say, "No no, we're not chasing squirrels today," or, "Good boy! Good poopy!" and, "Come over this way, please, that mud will get you all ooky."
I never see the other dog walkers in the 'hood chatting with their pooch. Although I don't really monitor them, and they could be keeping up a running commentary for all I know.
So is it weird to talk to your pets? Because I talk to my cats, too.
The wierd part is the whole time I am grooming he talks to me...lol you should hear the stories he tells me about you....
, yep, just like that!!
Sometimes I like to give my dog her trick commands in Spanish. People are always really impressed that she knows English and Spanish; not realizing she is responding more to my hand signals and tone rather than the actual words.
SIENTESE! She sits. Bueno perrito.
(Not my dog in the pic but I love the pic)
I don't have dogs anymore, but I still know that I need to get my fat azz to the gym.My pups told me today that I'm getting fat
He lies.
