I talk to my kid about his grades. It is very similar to talking to a dog. He tilts his head and gives me the stare like he understands what I am saying, yet I know he doesn't.

I used to talk to my girl all the time and trust me, she understood what I was saying and sometimes her expressions would answer back. I miss our conversations. Now,I talk to my granddog and he to listens, but because he's a male, he doesnt always respond the way he should. He usually gives you that turn of the head and then licks his self. LOL, really makes me miss my girl even more.

Sometimes I like to give my dog her trick commands in Spanish. People are always really impressed that she knows English and Spanish; not realizing she is responding more to my hand signals and tone rather than the actual words.

SIENTESE! She sits. Bueno perrito.

It's always the females that talk back... at least my 2 boxers...one male, just gives the typical goofy boxer head tilt. The female, esp. if we're outside, will argue about anything, and do the bouncing/pouncing up and down thing barking in all her self proclaimed glory (attitude). She's full of pizz and vinegar and ain't afraid to tell anyone about it !!

I never see the other dog walkers in the 'hood chatting with their pooch. Although I don't really monitor them, and they could be keeping up a running commentary for all I know.

So is it weird to talk to your pets? Because I talk to my cats, too.

The wierd part is the whole time I am grooming he talks to me...lol you should hear the stories he tells me about you....

I love all of the videos that guy has posted. First, he gets this puppy and later he gets a kitty. Sylvester ends up getting picked up by Animal Control and his owner (Steve I think) has to go get him at the shelter. Steve said it was because he took his kitty crack (cat nip) away.

You know that picture is cute (I’ve seen it several times before) and I wonder if sitting on the cat is a dominance thing?

My JRT mix will jump on the sofa (completely empty ‘cept the cat might be sleeping on one end) and she will walk over to where the kitty is sleeping and sit on her.
