Well, what can you do?

I was here on 9/11. I was terrified and I had to suck it up and hike to L'Enfant Plaza (across the mall) because Otter couldn't get to me and he had the car. Fighter jets flying over head, military all over the place with guns, etc. Granted it wasn't New York City, but it was frightening to me just the same because we didn't know what was coming next.

I still get nervous when I see the planes coming into National to land as they go past my building's windows.

I just try to keep my eyes open and be a little aware but if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen.

Funny, a few weeks after 9/11 I was walking down K Street. All of the sudden I heard this huge bang and thought I was dying. I looked around and the mailman had dropped his huge cart on the street.

I know what you mean, especially seeing the planes flying into Washington National, I make sure to look to see if the wheels are down, that tells me they plan on landing the damned thing instead of flying into a building. And then for a while afterwards, I'd keep looking out the window at the Pentagon, just checking on it sort of thing. Nonetheless, this did raise a potential helpful scenario... do we have a list of those DC folks who care to join, with who drives in, who works close to who and can pick up whom? I probably could have helped on 9/11 (I took coworkers home) but nonetheless, y'all are going in the general direction I am - away from the City. Happy - you are one block over, I can give you my work number for you to call if you need to get home and have taken the bus... any suggestions

Isn't that where they had the stabbing about a month ago? If you look north and to your left - I'm in that building... (The Warner) :flowers: Better yet, I'll get out on the roof and waive.
