Can you have the ceremony at Sotterly? Since it's going to be so small, maybe you won't have to pay anything. I bet it'd be pretty outside.

They wont let you do it for free, just got married there on saturday, I believe the cheapest rental is 250.00 with a 2 hr minumum, I also believe there closed the day after xmas also.

have a relative get ordained online. its great, legal, and most of all makes it special.

We had my husbands sister marry us she got ordained online and it was instant. She recieved a ordination in the mail a few weeks later but you dont have to wait for the certificate to be able to perform the ceremony. The website was called universal life ministries I believe.

Me and my ex got married in the little chapel there on Sotterly....didn't cost anything except the ministers time

It may be big enough to hold that many people....we 7 people in there and there was plenty of room

Update

Thank you, everyone, for your great ideas & comments. We are getting married in the Spire Room at Corbel's Restaurant in Leonardtown. We get the room to ourselves and my future daughter-in-law went onto the recommended website (from this forum) and applied to become ordained. It will be a great surprise for her Dad and I can't wait for the day to actually get here. Thanks again, and MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Thank you for such kind words. However, we ARE getting married and completely looking forward to both Christmas with all our kids and sharing a very special day with every one of them (6 in all, plus 2 sons-in-law). It just happens to be Christmas that we can get them all together, in one place, at the same time. Wouldn't necessarily call it "a lot of other stuff". We are keeping in very simple, which you would know had you read my latest posting with our plan. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and all that good stuff !!

Don't get married. It won't work. Let Xmas be Xmas and not a lot of other stuff.
