I have a question regarding these "spray on tan" things. How do they get good coverage without getting it all over places that it shouldn't, like in your eyes, in your hair, ears?
Are you familar with the electrostatic process used in powder coating? The place in wildwood is similar. You stand on a metal plate with a (-) chargs and the tanning solution has a (+) charge. The mist is attraced and deposited on you evenly. To cover areas you you don't want tanned, they have a cap for your head and some cream for your hands and feet. I'm planning on doing it again, works great.

How long does it last?

It lasts about 4 days. I have heard of it being orange on certain people but I've never seen it and I've never turned orange and I'm pretty fair.

Lasted about 10-14 days and looked very natural. Faded out nice and evenly, didn't get blotchy. Shower and don't use any lotion or mosturizer before going, it will block the spray from being absorbed.

Orange is the color I get from being in the sun. :killingme

I've heard the spray ons work but they don't last very long at all, a week tops. I think $20.00 for a tan that last a week is a bit steep, unless you are going somewhere special.

That is usually what I use it for, a wedding, bachelorette party, OC trip or whatever. But not on a regular basis because it does get expensive.

That is what I was thinking :really: Like getting it done before I head out next month on a trip.

What?!
I had it done last year and it turned out horrible. It was very blotchy all over and I had terrible streaks down the back of my legs(which was my own fault for not wiping the excess spray off fast enough) and my hands & feet looked dirty (again my fault for not using enough of the barrier cream) But I have seen allot of people that have had it done and it looks great on them. I think it really depends on your skin type. Like if you have dry skin, your skin is going to soak up the spray, & oily skin may not absorb the spray very well, or if you have combination skin it may turn out blotchy :ohwell:

I grabbed a shower right before I went, it turned out great and lasted almost 2 weeks.

Where did you get it done at? I did it at one place and it turned out bad.

I had heard that also, that it does not work well on combination skin. I was going to suggest that before going shower (as APS said) and exfoliate - to get rid of dry patches, etc.
Anyway I'd definitely give it a "dry run" try before doing it for a special occasion.
