If you lost an item, what would you do to find it?

Other than post in the lost/found of the SOMD classifieds, contacting the property department @ the Sheriff's office, and contacting the place where you think you lost it (after searching everywhere else)? I want to make certain I have all my bases covered. Thanks.

I'd look for it!

seriously though, I have no idea other then retrace my steps or something.

Was it a cell phone or something?

I lost my college ring and it still breaks my heart. I just retraced my steps and scoured my car. It is no where to be found. It's a shame my name was engraved on the inside and whoever found it didn't contact me.

:bawl: I want my ring back.

have someone else look for you - have them retrace your steps - fresh eyes may locate your lost item.

If it was made of metal - I would get my son's metal detector :yay:

If not - I will b1tch until sux2b44 and the boy helps me find it!

It's hard to imagine from your description. Is it a one-of-a-kind item? Can you post a pic here?

I don't have a picture of it, but here is one that is sort of like it. Mine were more oval and had fewer diamonds. Plus it looked more delicate, as there were just two chain-like links between the oval sections. Really hard to describe. The second one has the two chain-like links, but mine only had one diamond per link (not 3 as shown). He got it from G&H.

I hope someone was honest enough to turn it in... but the way people are now days, I doubt it. Still, good luck.
Also, where did you buy it from? Did you insure it, or register it? It might help if it turns up in a pawn shop to have the serial number from the store, etc.

I'm sorry you lost your bracelet. I recently lost my camera so I know how you feel. I truely hope it gets returned to you. The worst part is not knowing exactly what happenend to it. You could make flyers and post them in solomons

It's very pretty. I hope it finds it's way back to you.

If you were wearing a jacket when you lost it, check the inside of the sleeves. It might have gotten hung up when you were taking it off. (Happened to my wife before.) Check the car real good and double check your jewelry box. (You never know.) Good luck.

I know exactly how you feel! I lost my engagement ring a while back. Bad thing was I had been all over the house, yard, and down to my friends that day. I was cleaning, washing my car, and playing with the dog in the large backyard, and went down my friends for shrimp. I traced back all my steps, borrowed my friend’s metal detector, and had half the neighbors looking around for it! Digging through trash and everything!

The ring had sentimental value to me, it was my mothers diamond placed in a new band. Anyway, insurance paid us money, and we went and bought a new ring.....

A couple months later, my fiance went to clean the fish tank, he found my ring resting on the little metal strip on the back of the fish tank, right below the button for the light. I guess when retracing my steps, I forgot those tiny little things we do on a daily basis, like turn the fish tank light off.

I hope you can find your bracelet, I know that feeling in the pit of your stomach when you loose something like that!
