If you've had children

I've read about so many woman who get a bad result from their NT screening and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. I have to keep reminding myself of that.

I've truly stressed myself over this. :jameo:
Then focus on what you know... that a number of "bad results from screening" end up being nothing. Take a big breath and realize that what is... is... and is out of your control one way or the other... the one thing in your control is how you deal with your stress level. Do what is best for you and your unborn child... relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

You're OK in my book, no matter what the others say about you.

It is common to be asked if you want the test early on so you have the option of aborting it if there is suspicion of abnormalities. :ohwell:
Or to have you deliver at a hospital that has the appropriate specialists to handle the needs you and your infant may need.

Not all OB/GYNs suggest aborting on the suspicion of abnormalities.

TY. :huggy: Pregnancies are soooo exciting! And scary! And thought consuming! :jameo: Cherish every moment. If you are a writer... journal your thoughts as you go along. You will enjoy reading them years from now when your child is a teenager.

Yes. I believe it's 1 in 200. That's what scares me.

I refused when they offered it to me, but I wouldn't abort for any reason. But the risk scared the crap out of me.

Is it sono guided?

Yes. But they could make a mistake, infection could come from it, or the baby could move during the procedure and get hit by the needle. There's also a chance that the baby's blood and the mother's blood could mix.

My stepmom had it done. She was in her thirties before she had kids.

I'm considered "advanced maternal age" (I despise that term, btw) so that's why all this testing started to begin with.

I bowl overhand
BG was "advanced maternal Age" which is a given I'd think seeing how she was 54 at the time.. She had an Amnio and bunch of other genetic tests done.. checked DNA pairs etc.. For an old woman she had a very healthy baby, and handled pregnancy and being a new mother very well.

Granted if she hadn't been a nun when I seduced her away from the church, she probably wouldn't have waited so long to me a mom.
