Look, it may not be earth shattering but it's important to me. Therefore it's a catastrophe.

I just caved and made her some chicken, rice, and carrots and she's wolfing it down. And I wouldn't mind cooking for her but I don't want her to be malnourished, and I also don't want her to be such a freaking pain in the ass. Other dogs eat dog chow, but DianaRoss doesn't like it. :drama:

My dog is extremely picky as well. I ordered Farmer's Dog and it was a breakthrough. Then he didn't want the chicken blend, then the pork blend. I gave up on that . He does loves hamburger though, so I mix it with his Fresh Pet. Warm it for 5 seconds and he inhales it. Flea weighs 5 pounds so he HAS to eat. I also got a pro biotic that I crumble into his food. Works really well.

Good luck!

I thought about getting Farmer's Dog but I know she'll snub it after a few meals and I'm tired of throwing out expensive dog chow.

Take it down to the senior center, I'm pretty sure from the articles I've read there should be a couple seniors that eat dog food there.

If your dog doesn't like Farmer's Dog they will refund your money and ask you to donate the remainder. They're great like that. Chewy will do the same.

Bring home a rotisserie chicken.

Normally that does the trick - sprinkle some chopped chickie or cheese on her chow and she snarfs it down. Until she's over it....

I'm just tired of coaxing her to do something as simple as....eat. What kind of freaking mental dog doesn't want to eat??

Pour a bit of fat-free chicken broth over what you normally give. Mine licks the bowl completely clean when I do that.

Too much fat in those chickens for a dog. Fat can cause pancreatitis, liver issues, and other not good ailments such as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Remember, dogs ancestors ate other very lean muscled animals. They are not conditioned to eat and metabolize lots of fat.

You allowed this to manifest and happen, Its never a good thing when the pet is the ALFA in the relationship. You saddled this horse now ride it.

Get a gigantic bag of ole Roy, I bet she will love it if she likes cat crap.

She has a vet appt next week and I don't want to have to lie to him when he asks what I've been feeding her.

I burst into tears of frustration last night, so today she decided to give me a break and eat two meals of Fresh Pet mixed with rice and chicken.

If you decide to cook her meals, please make sure to get doggie vitamins to assure she is getting all the nutrients she needs. I know people that have prepared home meals for their dogs-protein, vege, starch. It is a little work but may keep her interested and not bored with her foods. Many base foods can be frozen and then fresh stuff added to meal (my current doggies loves fresh apples!)
