WASHINGTON (AP) - Up to a dozen Marines were reported killed in new fighting in Iraq, the Pentagon said Tuesday.

Reports from the field said dozens of Iraqis attacked a Marine position near the governor's palace in Ramadi, a senior defense official said.

"A significant number" of Marines were killed, and initial reports indicate it may be up to a dozen, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Its the politics of being "nice" that is getting our troops killed. I am sure we will now have an appropriate reaction.

Heard on the radio that they're pulling out the AC-130 gunships, I do believe we mean business this time. I just wish it had been done BEFORE marching in our Marines.

Yeah, no sh*t. They give these news reports and I hold my breath, then they say Marines in Fallujah or Ramadi and I exhale. Then I remember that some other family is sitting in front of the TV and they're still holding their breath. It makes me sick.

I guess I'm just a Hiroshima kind of person - I think a big statement is sometimes needed to straighten people out, even if it does wipe out a whole town.

Once again this country has shown to the rest of the world that we lack the "B@!!S" to get it done. Listen to this "LEVEL FALLUJAH" What is the problem? Are we trying to save face or lives? The rest of the world hates us anyway so LEVEL IT!
We are holding back just like Berlin, just like Korea and yes boys and girls just like Nam. I am so upset that we have to be politically correct while husbands, fathers, sons and daughters get killed over a country the doesn't give a rats a$$ about us.
And while we are at it, LEVEL THE SAUDIES. We save their A$$ and to thank us they raise the cost of oil. Christ when are we going to learn?

Because my sister is a Marine and she's over there. I also have another friend over there with DOD and my Uncle is on the way.

Here are my thoughts on this mess. As long as we have whiny liberals making a stink about every single loss we take in Iraq, we will continue to take loss after loss, as it's a means to an end for the American hating animals in Iraq.

Keeping the body count up is their only hope for success and victory, and they will keep killing. Why? Because, every peacenik, nutso in this country goes absolutely insane over death counts.

We have so far lost very few in comparison to their losses, yet they know we don't have the stomach to lose soldiers, they can, they don't much care. Don't get me wrong, losing American lives is a travesty, however, we will lose more, due to showing so much emotion over it.

They know exactly where to hit us. If we had WWII resolve and the entire country was of the opinion that we will do whatever it takes to win this war, they'd all crawl back in their hole or start waving the white flags.

A nation divided gives them hope for a pull out, which means absolute victory for them, which will mean atrocities committed upon those who don't adhere to their warped line of thinking.

Get a grip people. It makes me nauseous reading liberal diatribe defending those monsters while portraying our current leaders as the monsters. How can you justify what Islamic radicals are doing by blaming it on your own country? How can you sleep at night loathing our government more than these animals? I just don't get it. I probably never will.
