I usually make it to the shopping center with BoJangles in it in about 45 minutes going that way:yay:
If you are going by the Safeway Plaza, you can also turn off 381 onto 382 (Croom Rd.) which comes out onto 301 at the light right in front of BoJangles.

Then you need to go a different way. There is no reason it should take you that long to get to Forestville from Mechanicsville.
I second that. I could make it from Lexington Park and over the WW Bridge, to work (Arlington) in 1.5 hours. fddog must be driving like grandpa.

 This is the last day I have to take the WW bridge to work. I'm transfering to Uppermarlboro on monday. Instead of spending 3 hrs a day on the road I'll only spend maybe 1 1/2. I'm soooo happy!

I don't really know you but um.... Welcome to my commute.

I had left Alex Va (crossing WW) when I got my current job. You are not going to miss it one bit. Rte 4 is smooth sailing. :glideshandthroughtheair:

:neener: I drive 5 miles to work and the lights are all green if I do exactly 57mph

(in a 45mph zone )

No wonder you are so up on the court process for speeding tickets :lmao: Don't worry I am still forever grateful to have you as a goto.

I will be darn if we don't all drive the same roads. It really is shocking to me how many people commute as far as PG Cty. So you come Croom Rd from that Hughesville road off of Rte 5? I have been meaning to learn that way.

Then you need to go a different way. There is no reason it should take you that long to get to Forestville from Mechanicsville. Go up 381 to Old Indian Head to 301 @ Cheltenham and you should be able to make it in an hour or less. It never takes me more than 45 minutes (30 is average time, no matter when I leave) to get to the beltway @ Rt. 4 going that way. I'm in Silver Spring and drive from Mechanicsville. It's 1 hour if I leave on time, 1 1/2 if I leave late (any time after 6:00).
if i leave at 515 i can make it in an hour, anytime after that can be up to an hour and a half

WOW, how in the world do you do that? It takes me 45 mins to St Charles Pkwy. At least 10 mins down 228 and then 20mins down Indian head. Or at least 45mins more to the beltway off Branch Ave. Do spill your shortcuts.

Charlotte Hall to Upper Marlboro 40 minutes and thats going Rt. 5 to 301. Ive taken all the back ways 381 and 382, and still find for the most part up 5 to 301 is the quickest. Too many slow pokes on 382 (alltough I just came that way to work nice day and had some time to kill, its a scenic route) and very few passing zones if you get caught behind one and too many places where the speed limit drops, easy pickings if the police run radar. As of 2pm there is a PG County Policeman running radar on Aquasco Rd from area of Horsehead Rd south to county line heard him calling out tag numbers on vehicles he had stopped them on my scanner I had with me when I just came up the road. (Watchout Speedy 70) LOL

Yabutt, every now and then I beep when I fly by (watch for the Silver Bullet). For some reason (intuition??) Anchorsa Way freaks me out, I slow down every time I come to that road.. just get this feeling someday someone is going to pull out in front of me there..

No the Safeway at 301 and Osborne Rd/Croom Rd.

Ok, I so am going to do a dry run because I need to know other routes especially in back-ups. Rte 4 has sporadic back-ups but it's always something crucial like a horse runs out onto the road from the equestrian center or a gigantic deer lay dead in the center line of the two lanes.

Speaking of anyone know where the back way is if you get caught in a back up on Rte 4 at the Anne Arundel line pass the Chesapeake Beach exit going North. I see people going left at the first intersectiion to a side street or even taking the Deale Bristol exits but I don't know where I would get off or get back on. TIA
