Irma...Uncertain course

I really thought this was going to be a Carolina hit all along... just that inner gut feeling. :ohwell:

I told the LW a couple of days ago that I was thinking somewhere between Savannah, GA and Wilmington, NC. *Even though I did say "too far to tell" for my official SoMD IRMAgerd tread tread quote.

I was hoping the same result, but it will hit SE FL first, then probably track up the coast. The usual and natural path. I know it's mean to say I'm glad it will probably not kill us here, but, hey - gotta look at this thing realistically.
If this storm does not lose power, and it tracks just off the coast, we be screwed.
Last time we had a storm that looked like this, well it wasn't this strong, and it didn't make landfall in South Florida as was predicted, it scooted up the coast and I think it came ashore south of Jacksonville or something.
The size and strength of this storm is my concern. We have had a we summer, ground is moist, it gets wetter and the wind hits, lots of trees will be coming down.

2 pm Thurs assessment (NOAA): Wind/Rain impacts SoMd sometime on Tuesday, likely MORNING.
The Top right quadrant of any hurricane is the most fierce. If Irma passes to our west (ie Danville Va)...WE are the top right quadrant.

7pm,...moves it more interior,...that is a relief for us that dread basement flooding and downed trees! Hey SC,...better button up tight!

7 year itch?

7 year itch in the Atlantic?
Brian McNoldy pointed out this crazy similar comparison of 3 simultaneous Atlantic hurricanes in 2010 and 2017. Even the order of first letters.

It is also the first time 3 hurricanes in the Atlantic are threatening land. :jameo:

I'm leaving early Monday morning for Arkansas with a stopover in Tennessee. Leave TN early Tuesday morning. The last bit of the storm will be chasing us, right on our heels on Tuesday. Hope by then it won't be much more than a bit of rain.

That lone AEMI ensemble model still shows Irma taking a hard right around Chattanooga and heading straight up through Charles County.
