Everyone on Today this morning in NY were in dark colored clothes or black. Even all those they sent to the UK were in black. Now I guess doing it in the UK is a custom.? Her funeral is now 9 days away and unless they have dual citizenship why wear it now.

With all the following we do over the Royals you'd think some people believe we are still their colony.

You are correct. After the civil war between Charles I and Parliament between 1642 and 1651, the winning Parliament, took all powers from the throne and vested itself with the power to rule. All monarchs since, have been figureheads. This doesn't mean any royals lost title to their land/asset holdings at the time. They just lost the power to directly rule, as say Henry VIII did.

I could be wrong, but that's how I understand it anyway.

Well, they're followers and bandwagoners, so.....

I follow the Royals the way I would a TV show I like. They're not my reality, just entertainment. When Diana died they became boring, and got interesting again when Wills and Kate finally set a date. Then boring, then interesting again when Princess Yoko came on the scene. Prince Andrew the rapist was interesting, and of course Yoko continues as the villain we love to hate. They're nothing more than a soap opera that I enjoy tuning in to.

Now they've killed off one of my favorite characters. :(

I see this morning NBC pulled some of their people back home from the UK and their mourning clothes are back to normal clothing. Maybe they were questioned on why.

I was watching the procession up the Royal Miles yesterday, and off to the side just in camera view a protestor attempted to run up to the barricade yelling something as the hearse passed. It looked like he proceeded to get a beat down from those there to pay their respects.
