OK do I tape them in a cross like Fox5dc.com says or in an X ???? Stupid question but humor me.
Use the X, it serves two purposes. First it will keep the glass from splintering and second, it marks the spot.

Did anyone see the guy standing outside Gate 2 this morning with his big orange "PRAY" sign? Not sure what is supposed to be prayed for, traffic, life in general or the storm.

You could always get creative and do the Greek alphabet or other symbols. You know, like the ones you use when communicating with the aliens.

Well kinda. Technically, the plastic holds loose glass and debris outside of the house once a large piece takes out the window. The "X" in the duct tape honestly believe it or not is for people who want to reinforce the plastic but still want to be able to look out the window... really.

If you don't care about looking out of the window, then cover duct tape all over the whole plastic sheet and you will guarantee NOTHING will get through that baby.
