Itching Feet

Every day, about an hour or 2 after I get dressed and put on shoes, my feet start itching. Not minor itching you can ignore, but so bad I want to cut my feet off. It lasts for an hour or so and then goes away. Sometimes comes back later in the day. If I take benedril, it goes away in about 30 minutes. It's not Athelete's Foot or Dry Skin.

I have no other indications of any issues with my feet.

It happens regardless of what shoes I put on. Wife has not changed laundry detergent lately.

Anybody have any ideas?

As we get older, we develop allergies that we never had before. What is the common denominator with all your shoes? A type of material. Latex? Rubber? Leather?

Leather sandals w/ rubber soles w/ cloth covering the footbed (worn w/out socks.
Leather Sketchers
Leather Doc Martens

hmmm, I see a patern here. Maybe I should get some canvas shoes to experiment with.

Not so far as I know. Never heard of this as an indicator.

Do you always wear socks? I'm thinking you are developing a reaction to either the sock material or the soap. Try wearing plain white socks for a day or two. My dad has to do that now, never did before.

Have you tried rubbing your feet with isopropyl alcohol, lemon juice or soaking in a gallon of water as hot as you can tolerate; with a 1/4-1/2 cup of bleach?

Those are the only home remedies I know. If you have already tried similar treatments and OTC sprays don't work, you may want to seek the advice of a dermatologist.

Do you take any kind of a daily vitamin? Same thing happened to me - turned out to be the vitamins I was taking...!!

Don't worry about that, she has always had a crush on old Wilford.

Usually wear plain white cotton socks, but it happens with BSA uniform socks too.

No. Haven't tried anything other than taking benedril.
