I teach my kids right from wrong I do not teach them to hate a race nor do I talk bad about a race b/c thats weir hatred comes from, from the parents. So thank you to every human out here that has to deal with your racism plus your childrens!

Could the roles be reversed, yes but you must be blind or don't watch the news much if you can't see that the these black thugs ganging up and preying on whites of any age happens alot more.

let me tell you something.... first of all, it was the black kids being racist towards the white kids. So NO it wasn't the white people being racist towards the blacks. Second I know if it would of been a bunch of white kids doing the same thing she would of come on here and said the exact same as she has. My son is not racist never has been never will be. Why do you think they got up and left the theater? Because they new it would turn into something like that! So to answer your question YES I would care if it was a "WHITE" teenager acting the same way! And I know sinwagon would care too! There is no excuse for anyone be it black, white, hispanic or what ever color you are to act that way! Well said!!!!! Also, I did not make this an issue about race THEY DID by calling my sons and their friends "Whitey's" and making the statement "we are going to mess these white boys up" Did they say "we are going to mess these boys up" NO! They made sure the person on the other end of the phone knew they were WHITE boys as if that would sweeten the pot and make them more interested in coming to assist in the fight.

Am I a racist? No I am not. If I was in that theatre, it would not have went down that way. I would have called the police and prosecuted them for a hate crime. If I saw a group of white children trying to bully a group of black children, i would have done the same thing.

My children have friends of all different races, religions, sexual orientation you name it. We do not discriminate and I am not discriminating on any race as a whole, simply the kids who were DISCRIMINATING against my children and their friends in a movie theatre and those little racists happened to be black!

Either way, our children have a right to go to a movie theatre and view a movie without threats being made and without my oldest son and his friend being concerned for the saftey of themselves or their younger brothers/friends who are there with them. My kids and their friends were responsible, they left and let them know THEY WERE NOT WORTH IT! Ofcourse they didn't see it that way I am sure, they saw it as "whitey was scared" but if they were racist they would have then gotten on their phones and called their friends saying "come up here we are going to F*** up these black boys" they were MATURE enough to get up and leave and realize that NOTHING is worth getting in a huge battle over something so stupid that could have a. either ended our children's lives or b. ended the lives of those racist little punks because either way somebody could have been seriously hurt!

As with anything, anywhere - it is perception. Whenever you, me, we are out and about in a mall, store, movies we are bound to see a group of black youth acting like fools and the stereotype sticks. Yes, truthfully it is sad the stereotype happens but it is the way it happens.

Everyone sees it, whether someone admits to it is another thing. When the admittion (sp?) is made, the assumption of :racist: is made.

Most of us really know that all blacks are not the same - the small majority who truly believes they are are truly racists... it is the exact same for whites as your blanket statement below.

Ok I've kept my mouth shut long enough. can't do it anymore after this reply! My son was her 16 y/o son's friend that was with them. When my son was telling me what happened saturday night all I could do was shake my head because that's all you really can do now. I have done my hardest to teach my children that they should never judge someone by the color of their skin. but what we have now a days is the judgement of them everyday here because of the lack of color that they have on their skin! We haven't lived in Maryland even a year and he has experienced more racism towards him(from the black community) than anywhere else we have ever lived!

So please explain to me MDGIRLIE(since you're a well educated black woman) how am I as a parent suppose to teach my children NOT to be racist when that's what your race has done to him? I'm not saying all black people are bad and all black people act this way because I know some very well educated black people that wouldn't even think twice about being stupid and ignorant and treat people this away no matter what their skin color is!

I was on a scholarship collegiate team where I was the only black girl for 4 years and considered my teammates my sisters...now tell me how the hell am I a racist. I treat every person the same way no matter what creed, color, etc....now tell me how I'm racist. I'm simply saying that that bad bunch of so-called people that was treating those children in a racist way should not account for EVERY black person in this country. Try re-reading the post. If a nicely dressed black gentleman approached me in a deserted parking lot, I wouldn't look twice at him. But if a young thug dude approached me, I'd be on alert. There's a lot more to it than just skin color.

First of all, I have read the post several times I know what it says! Secondly, I never said YOU were racist I said you were still being judgemental and have a lot of anger because if you weren't then you would of never of brought that story up at all. Thirdly, It doesn't really matter what I think or what you think, people are going to think what they want be it they are black, white or whatever! No one will ever change that. Racism will always be around because that is just life! And for black people to say that whites are more racist than blacks is just rediculous because I see more racism from the blacks than I do from whites. I see blacks being racist towards their own race and you can't deny that! Especially the ones that are with white people! So how many times have you been hated by your own race because you're married to a white man? I have a very close friend that is black and is married to a white man who is also a very close friend and she tells me that her race hates on her all the time because of it! And that is just wrong! Just as wrong if it were the other way around and white people hating on a white person because they are with a black person!

So you see it doesn't matter, racism will always be around! Does that mean you're racist? I don't know because I don't know you but probably not. Does it mean I'm racist? No because I know I am not. Does it mean sinwagon is? NO. She was just coming on here stating how she feels because of the situation. It's very frustating when you don't have any ounce of racism in you and you try to teach your kids to not be racist and then what happens they get a group of black kids that are being racist to them! That's all this whole thread is about! pointing out that it CAN be a two way street!

Then let me rephrase so you understand:

A group of nicely dressed, well-behaved young black guys wouldn't give me pause for concern, even in a deserted parking lot. But when I see a pack of raggedy young black guys cutting up, being loud, swearing, acting like idiots, I'm not going to wait to find out if they're honor students and Hospice volunteers or not. I'm going to avoid them.

You're right that anyone can be anything, regardless of how they look. But looks and behavior plays a big role in how a person is perceived. If they don't want to be thought of as thugs, they should consider not acting and looking like thugs.

If that offends you, that's your problem. I'd rather be safe than worry about your feelings.
