you can claim one for yourself.
And have them hold even more (any amount you specify). I figure why should they sit on MY money all year when I can spend it on wine for PV!! :lmao:

Congrats to the folks who have gotten their refunds already. But what would you say is the typical turn-around time to get your refund deposited into your account? Ovsiously, I still need to e-file. But I was wondering just how long it might take to get my moola.

Depends how much you regularly get back.... if it's over $1000.00 I would claim 1. If not, divide your refund by 12 months and ask payroll to with hold the amount. I did that and still gotta a little refund this year but nothing near the $1000's I was getting in previous years.

Doesn't it add up to the same amount in the end

why switch it up? :ohwell:
Claim 1 on your taxes for the dependant deduction, 0 through the year means they take more out. So for me they take out as if I had no dependant, not even myself, but I still wind up owing money

Frankly, I don't mind that they have my money throughout the year. Getting a refund each year, to me, is like getting a bonus check that I can use for splurges that I ordinarily wouldn't be able to afford with the extra money that would have gone in to my bi-weekly checks. $150 extra a month really wouldn't change my financial status significantly. But getting just over $2000 in a refund can get me a nice summer vacation, money towards a down payment on a new vehicle or pay off some on my mortgage. I like getting refunds. It may not be smart, but it works for me.

Thanks  I was starting to get a headache myself... If I get my 401K up and running, would my tax refund be affected any for next year?
