I could be mistaken but I think they don’t elect the PM in Canada directly. I think the elect Parliament and THEY choose him.
I never watch videos posted here. I can always read sht faster. That's what she's saying in the video.

Years ago I was following Steven Harper in Canada because he was Conservative. I looked up how coalition governments work and found out all that.Same here, but I did watch this one because it was only 6 minutes.
I didn't know how that worked either.Interesting. I wondered how that guy became PM, I thought Canadians voted for him. Turns out they'd never heard of him until he was made PM.
The US media presents Canadian government completely different, surprise surprise. So perhaps we'd be doing them a favor by making them the 51st state....
I've never believed that they "like" us. Their obsequious little charade of politeness is just like a small dog's towards a bigger one - the "i like you, please don't eat me" kind of attitude. During 9/11, Chretien said we were "asking for it". You might meet nice Canadians but they don't miss a trick - polls have shown that in general, they believe themselves to be morally superior to this country, even while miserably accepting that we can swat them like a fly if we wanted to.So... this whole "Canadians hate us" is growing and it's causing Arizona some financial issues already.
Not taking sides... just telling you what's going on out here.
In Arizona, there are [were] a lot of Canadians. They come here in the fall, and leave in the spring. They, along with a lot of people from Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin, own two homes. They avoid the winter there and the summer here.
This year... not so much. The Canadians left early... way early. Their homes are vacant. I would guess a lot of mobile homes in the parks around Apache Junction will go up for sale. Canadians are important to our economy.
Yesterday we had a community yard sale... and since there were not as many Canadians, the crowd was a lot smaller.

I'm watching some of the Canadian YT vids, mostly about Trumps 51st state stuff. The Canadians want nothing to do with it and are making that clear, but I don't sense any hate at all, just, "No, thank you."
If they left early, then I would have to believe they had time sell before they left. Since they did not, it would seem they have every intention of coming back next year.In Arizona, there are [were] a lot of Canadians. They come here in the fall, and leave in the spring.
