"wtf is this any of your business? does she ask you why you do things you do?"

Hey karma coward... It is posted in public forums, so my opinion has been courted. Buy an ad if you don't want feedback.

What most hobby breeders fail to recognize is that even though Yorkies are too cute and adorable and easily sold, JRT's cute easily sold, Chihuahuas the same thing... and all the designer mutts being bred and sold now, these dogs wind up at the shelters in very large numbers on a daily basis. Unless YOU spay or neuter these dogs before your sell them, you cannot guarantee that their offspring (or themselves even, REGARDLESS of what your contract says) will not be in the shelter looking for homes.

Back to the sad reality, I just had another call from the shelter... no, I'm full of other dogs rescued from the shelter and I have no foster homes, so this dog got the needle as soon as they rec'd my reply.

THIS breaks our hearts on a daily basis, and to see more dogs bred adds to it. If you've never walked through the shelter and talked to the techs that do the killing, try it sometime, see if your opinion changes.

Oh and guess what, these small dogs are every bit as hard to get adopted as the big dogs I rescue, why? Because many of them aren't good with children, especially once they have hit the shelter system.

I will say this. the tri county shelter over near benedict bridge is filled with the most rude people I have ever come in contact with. EVER.

So much so that I left.

No. They fully believe you should not breed your own at all. If you can afford to take care of kids you should be going to shelters and bringing them home to raise. All of those kids not being raised by caring, loving, supportive parents get kicked to the curb at the ripe old age of 18 without ever having benefited from a secure, stable home.

At least people who have kids (at least the vast majority) are keeping all of the kids they produce. At least they're not popping out babies and selling them.

My brother and my sister feel exactly the way you do about breeding. But they include the human species into that opinion. If you have more than one kid, you are being selfish and imprudent. In fact, they believe you shouldn't have had any as there are already to many kids in foster homes that need a family.

Do you have any idea the red tape invloved in adopting children? Those poor kids.

Every shelter I have been in is the same way. I can't imagine working in a place like that and keeping a "cheery" attitude all the time.

Once you are around often enough they will normally open up to you, but until then you are only "one more person" that thinks they know how to do that job.

Are you that thin skinned? Seriously, you like to watch pooches screw, I figure you can handle some tough talk.

Actually no I'm not and no I don't find animals mating as entertainment...you though are hard to deal with because frankly you just come off as ignorant. Too bad you push peeps off your bandwagon...

This isn't my bandwagon. There are too many dogs. It is fact. Do you know that? Say it for me.

Jack Rusell Puppies 12-13-2007 01:42 PM maybe she didn't answer because its none of your business - you are drawing her out for an attack - give the girl some credit

Um...no. A responsible breeder should be able to answer simple questions like, "Why do you breed?" and "What steps to do you take to improve the breed?" If they can't/won't answer, then they shouldn't be breeding. If the breeders on here want people like Geek to stop "picking on them," then they should answer the questions. If they can answer the questions, then they won't have to worry about Geek, because she'll realize they're being responsible about it.

Can you elaborate? Rude in what way? Where you trying to adopt?

Sure,

We went in looking to adopt a cat and a dog. Walked up to the counter and this blonde haired lady looked at us and kept on working.

We figured she was busy and waited for her to finish. About 2-3 mintues I asked her if someone could help.

She said, what do you want?

I told her I would like to see the cats and the dogs we wanted one of each.
She said most people dont do both, sign in and go look around.

No problem we found a couple that we wanted to handle to see if they would work personailty wise.

We went back out, she sat there again until we asked her for help. Then she said she was too busy to get them out I would have to wait. I asked how long and she said I dont know. I can call you if you had a cell phone.

That was the last time we went. The other couple of times before that are different people who were just as rude.

It is located before you cross the benedict bridge coming from waldorf

I guess I can understand that, but many are not just one person thinking they are going to do a better job. Most are looking to open their homes to give love to those that need it.

I would love to foster and help out but they just put me off.

I can do that? Cool. I would love to help foster.
Well there you go, you all got to vent a bit and you have a new foster mommy (thanks SOMD) This has been a successful thread. Even though it was stolen from GVF who has some beautiful puppies.

Well my job is done here - off to the barn to encourage my horses to procreate!:howdy:

Having done many fosters of various dogs I can actually understand WHY people would want to get a puppy.

When you get a rescue sometimes you don't know the history of why they were given up, or what bad habits. I have fostered several dogs of the last few years, that have been wonderful pets, and some that just were so far gone attitude wise. As a teenager we fostered cocker spaniels, and had several snap at us because they were that nasty.

My fosters have mostly been wonderful, but there are a few that we just couldn't keep in our house for various reasons. We have had a few go out to their new homes great dogs, and than come back completely different. There are a lot of people the treat the dogs like dirt, and will give them back when the animal gets a little nasty back.

To the people that are being rude to the breeder's how does that make you look to the general public? There are people that read this forum that don't have accounts. They see the rescue organization that you represent to and think that they are WAY to pushy on others. Back off a bit with the rudeness.

I am sure I will get red, but oh freaking well.

Think about it though K_K, that one person that left could have been one terrific home for one of the homeless.. I personally could never to that job, I would be sick with sadness.
