I didn't go to Sandals in Jamaica, but I went to Beaches - Negril and had a miserable time. I'd never go back there again.

The bus drive from Kingston airport to Negril was harrowing and LONG, and once you got to Beaches, the accommodations were below average, and the food sub-par. The only nice thing about the place was the beach.

Hope you have a better time there than I did.

ouch...Montego is an hour away from Negril...Kingston is like what...4 hours?

You probably got piss poor accommodations due to the 220 pounds of dead weight you were carrying around with you

From what I read the Sandal Resorts are couple/adult only but the Sandals BEACHES are the family resorts.

Thank you
I'm like you, looking to book for next June for our Honeymoon. Kids will be staying home so I don't want other people's kids around either..

Let me know what you decide. We just can't make a decision and keep looking and looking. They all look so beautiful.

What do they have to do besides the beaches, pools and eating?
Do they have any shopping, casinos, other activties?

No casinos......There is one in Ocho Rios but it is off the resort in the city. If you want secluded beaches with an emphasis on the water and privacy, Whitehouse is for you!

THey have a few shops on the resort, and you can pay to go on a shopping tour. Most of the stores are selling either novelty souveniers or watches/jewelery. But you get it tax free and they will haggle with you...plus most of them give you free booze while you walk around in their store!

No shiat. This was pre-Bob, though. This was another 185 pounds of dead weight I went with. :roflmao:

How much does it normally cost for a weeks vacation including air fare?

it really depends.....on room, resort....airfare...it can vary between 3-17 grand....they have a lot of discounted packages and specials. I just saw one on tv last night that they were doing free airfare and rooms up to 40 percent off.

I would just call the Sandals people and talk about options.

Is that the best way to book: directly through Sandals and not a travel agent?

I've always wanted to take a cruise to Alaska but I get sea-sick. Is a cruise ship big enough that you wouldn't even know that you're on the water? I think I'd be ok as long as the boat isn't rocking too much.
