Jane Fonda tells veterans boycotting her movie...

Jane Fonda's supported the enemy in Vietnam got American POW's killed-Truth! and Fiction!
Interesting read doubt anyone here will read it.
In 1988 in an interview with Barbara Walters on 20/20, Jane Fonda talked about her Vietnam visit and issued what some feel was an apology but which her critics say was not enough.

Fonda said, "I would like to say something, not just to Vietnam veterans in New England, but to men who were in Vietnam, who I hurt, or whose pain I caused to deepen because of the things that I said or did. I was trying to help end the killing and the war, but there were times when I was thoughtless and careless about it and I'm...very sorry that I hurt them. And I want to apologize to them and their families."

In 2005, Fonda published her autobiography in which she described in detail her decision to go to North Vietnam. She said it was primarily motivated by her desire to document the U.S. bombing of important dikes that, if destroyed, could kill tens of thousands of people and devastate the lives of millions. The U.S. had denied the bombings. In the book, Fonda is unapologetic about the trip or her participation in broadcasts on radio Hanoi but regrets the pictures taken of her at the gun emplacement. She said it made it appear as though she was celebrating armaments aimed at American planes, which was not how she felt and was not the context in which the pictures were taken. She reminds readers that the U.S. investigated her trip and found no reason to bring any charges against her. She also describes her longstanding support of, and interaction with, U.S. military personnel and says her only beef was with the U.S. government, not the troops.

LOL , ok, how so more than others ?

To even have to ask that should embarrass you to no end.
you have once again proven that you have no idea what you are talking about.
Do some damn research and figure it out.
Nobody help him with links, its time the idiot learns to think for himself, maybe, if he does that, he can become a patriotic American one day instead of a POS socialist with an obama poo stained head.

Thanks for proving my point, now go play with your star wars dolls.

She actually went over to Vietnam to act as a propaganda mouthpiece for the Viet Cong. There is a very famous photograph of her "manning" an enemy anti-aircraft gun while singing an ode to their leader, smiling and clapping her hands.

Opposing war is one thing - most of us do, and vapid school kids are particularly excited at the thought of fighting the power, as are America-hating celebrities. It makes them think they're smarter than what they are. But actually going to the country we are at war with and actively siding with them while denouncing your own country and belittling American POWs makes one a traitor.

As far as I'm concerned, she should be rotting in prison to this day.

Right, which is probably why she called all those POWs liars, hypocrites and war criminals.

Way to support the troops, Jane.

Why , as an American she has the right to say what she wants, right or wrong?

Did you read any of my posts or are you just being stupid and I shouldn't bother with any more of your ignorant questions?

That's a real question because I don't want to be digging up information for you if you're just going to stick your fingers in your ears and go lalalala.

Yes I read your post ,now pay attention to mine .I posted a link with the pic you are talking about and if you would read the link .....the whole link you would see that some of what is attributed to her is not true and this by the POW's themselves.
Look as I said before I'm not a fan of the lady ,did she do something pretty effing stupid ...YES, but traitor nope.

Hey boy, did you ever stop to think that some of us are actually old enough to remember her doing it in real time? Not some fabricated story to make her look better 40 years later?

I bet you would argue with Henry Ford over the model T.. You really are not bright enough to pull this one off.

now, go get to that homework and do some damn research.
run up stairs and ask your mom to help if need be.

Stop. Seriously. She can come back 40 years later, revise history and declare her innocence all she wants. But there are photos AND recordings of her doing just what I said she did. She in fact went to Hanoi during the Vietnam War. She in fact sang their little song of praise to Uncle Ho. She in fact sat in the action seat of one of their anti-aircraft weapons. She in fact pulled a Tokyo Rose with her little Viet Cong propaganda broadcasts.

Just like you in fact can disregard any facts and believe whatever you choose, regardless of how stupid it is.

Why are you so invested in believing Jane Fonda was some misunderstood humanitarian and didn't do the things she did?

You don't really need to ask this, do you?

Um, no one here ever said her actions resulted in the death of American’s, just that she is a traitor to this country. She went to a county we (USA) were at war with, she provided propaganda information to said country, she aided said country in their ability to wage war against this country (contributed propaganda material) and called American service men (and POW’s) liars and baby killers.

Personally, she should never have been let back in the country and force to live in Vietnam. You are entitled to your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own facts so don’t try to white wash or revise what she did.

Also, you said you wanted to thank some of those anti-war protestors for what they did, what exactly would you like to thank them for…..for spitting on our returning service men, for calling them baby killers, for harassing them when they were merely trying to do their jobs, for causing millions of dollars in property damage?

Seriously, I truly wonder about your ability to reason and use logic, let alone the ability to think for yourself, because the stuff you write on this site reminds me an awful lot of what I can find on the Daily Kos, Democratic Underground and Huffington Post.

Now, go do some research and find out what the words traitor and treason mean, then find out what exactly Hanoi Jane did during her little vacation in North Vietnam.

When I first mentioned Jane Fonda as in "aerobics work out tape" back in my 20's - my father said "this is what I think of Jane Fonda" and he spit in his dinner plate, and then got up and dumped his dinner in the garbage.

(I didn't know about that before - but I've never forgotten it OR his reaction to the sound of her name.)

She cavorted with the Vietnamese. She is a traitor.

The Uniform Code Of Military Justice is pretty clear about this. Of course, Jane is not held to this standard. Unfortunately.

“Any person who—

(1) aids, or attempts to aid, the enemy with arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things; or

(2) without proper authority, knowingly harbors or protects or gives intelligence to or communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly; shall suffer death or such other punishment as a court-martial or military commission may direct.”

Elements.

(1) Aiding the enemy.

(a) That the accused aided the enemy; and

(b) That the accused did so with certain arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things.

(2) Attempting to aid the enemy.

(a) That the accused did a certain overt act;

(b) That the act was done with the intent to aid the enemy with certain arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things;

(c) That the act amounted to more than mere preparation; and

(d) That the act apparently tended to bring about the offense of aiding the enemy with certain arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things.

(3) Harboring or protecting the enemy.

(a) That the accused, without proper authority, harbored or protected a person;

(b) That the person so harbored or protected was the enemy; and

(c) That the accused knew that the person so harbored or protected was an enemy.

(4) Giving intelligence to the enemy.

(a) That the accused, without proper authority, knowingly gave intelligence information to the enemy; and

(b) That the intelligence information was true, or implied the truth, at least in part.

(5) Communicating with the enemy.

(a) That the accused, without proper authority, communicated, corresponded, or held intercourse with the enemy, and;

(b) That the accused knew that the accused was communicating, corresponding, or holding intercourse with the enemy.

Yes I'm an MPD, But who's
After seeing an interview over the weekend with the Navy Vet who started the boycott, one thing stood out. The movie isn't about Nancy Regan, it's about a White House "Butler" (name of the movie) and has many first ladies in the movie. BTW I agree Hanoi Jane shouldn't be seen or heard of in any movie or TV or video. Big Blue probably gets his rocks off watching old VHS tapes of her exercising. :shrug:

She got the part because she is one hell of an actress ,who did something really stupid over 40 years ago.

:killingme

And she's still doing stupid stuff like telling our vets to get over it and get a life.

She hasn't changed a bit. Still spitting in faces of our vets.
