Same.

I was a voracious reader as a kid, into my young adulthood, right up until my drinking became my all.

I still read a lot; have since I got sober and went to college.

The point is that I know a lot of words based on the context they're used in, but often find myself looking up words I know, and may have even used, but couldn't give you a denotative definition for.

Okay, that, and I'm getting old and my remembery is a little rusty.
I see you looked up a few for this post. LMAO.

I kinda wish I took Latin in HS instead of French. I wish my HS had offered German, but sorry no.
Took that in 10th grade.

Didn't remember a damn word of it when I was sent to Quebec back in 98.

Some of the French-Canadians wouldn't speak english to help matters. They damn well know the language.

I found that if I took up enough of their time, and tried to pronounce what little french I remembered like a drunken cajun, they'd, amazingly, remember enough english to move things along.

That was my experience in France - and they understood my English just fine. They pretended not to understand.

In the 1970's in my early teens my country cousins accused me of using 10 cent words in conversations ... I was an avid reader as an only child.

Somebody in the other thread said that POTUS can only pardon federal crimes. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but this would be a civil case, not federal. Also why would you let someone get that far behind before suing for payment and evicting them?
From what I read he had the SS goons baring the LL and others from getting near.

Hopefully his love for the crackhead results in his demise, be it from ODing or a telephone pole in his beloved gas guzzling Vette. Poetic justice.

Took both in HS, putting french words on the latin test and vice a versa. The latin teacher was in the dutch resistance, wish we got more stories out of him.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

A President can't pardon someone for supposed possible crimes if that a person was never indicted, tried and convicted, let alone for any possible crimes over an 11 year time span. What Biden essentially has done is invoked something akin to sovereignty, thinking he himself is a Sovereign, a King. And making Hunter sovereign from any and all possible prosecution.

This is abhorrent under our Republic Constitutional form of government where the Constitution is the Law of the Land, governing under the rule of law. Pardons and clemency, are for those that have been convicted, what may be seen as unfair prosecutions, or to right an injustice that the courts had committed, (kinda like jury nullification), but not for actions that have never prosecuted.

Thanks...I was pondering the breadth of a Presidential pardon....nothing comes to mind short of a a Pope declaring all past, present and future sins forgiven if a knight agreed to load up on a Ship heading to Tyre.
I suspect that Hunter lacks that degree of dedication.

After 2 weeks or so of Latin in sophomore year I got as far as Galia Est Provincia. Teacher said, you're flunking everything, I'm giving you a study hall for the rest of the year. Thankfully he did, I was like 247out of 250.
