But then I think they were 2 year terms.
Okay, I get it now. The WH bio said two consecutive 4-year terms and I didn't understand the significance of the "4-year" part.

Yea, he should have been more precise and talked about seeing him on the senate floor.
Considering how the kids are so quick to point their fingers and go, "Liar! Liar!" over every sniggling thing, you're right - Cheney should have specified.

"Nuh uh, VP Cheney! We met at a cocktail party 2 years ago! Remember? LIAR!!!"

How far did Kerry's arm have to be up Edwards azz, so he could get his lips to move..?? Does this guy have ONE original thought in his head?

The two points in the debate I liked were when Cheney said that he was the President of the Senate, went there every Tuesday, and many other times and that in the last 4 years Senator Edwards missed 70% of the meetings of the Judiciary Committe, and 50% of the meetings of the Intelligence committe and as a matter of fact tonight on this stage is the first time I have ever met the man since he came to the Senate 4 years ago, and that his hometown paper started calling him Senator Missing. Edwards looked like he was going to choke.

The next was when Cheney was talking about taxes and said Edwards created a "Chapter 6 corporation ?? to shelter his trial winnings from medicare part B tax" Edwards really looked paniced. The rest of the stuff looked very scripted

Chapter S Corp.

I love this part.

Well, Gwen, the 90 percent figure is just dead wrong. When you include the Iraqi security forces that have suffered casualties, as well as the allies, they've taken almost 50 percent of the casualties in operations in Iraq, which leaves the U.S. with 50 percent, not 90 percent.

With respect to the cost, it wasn't $200 billion. You probably weren't there to vote for that. But $120 billion is, in fact, what has been allocated to Iraq. The rest of it's for Afghanistan and the global war on terror.

The allies have stepped forward and agreed to reduce and forgive Iraqi debt to the tune of nearly $80 billion by one estimate. That, plus $14 billion they promised in terms of direct aid, puts the overall allied contribution financially at about $95 billion, not to the $120 billion we've got, but, you know, better than 40 percent. So your facts are just wrong, Senator.

Of course Cheney saying the debate was the first time he had met Edwards may indicate how "memorable" the previous encounters were. I know I meet lots of people I don't remember, and I am sure the VP has met far more people than I.

Funny that suddenly everyone seems to be obsessed with fact checking rather than style, which is the exact opposite of what we saw last week. Cheney massacred John boy last night when it came to style. Did you notice how strong and confrontational Cheney was on Republican strengths, but when it came to a weak area he defly switched the topic of conversation. Look at the question about unemployment in Cleveland. Cheney touched on the subject and then completely switched the discussion to Education, and that idiot Edwards got led along by his Johnson. Unemployment was suppossed to be the big bullet in Edwards's gun, and Cheney ended up blowing him away. :spank:

Then when Edwards would try to steer the conversation away from a Democratic weakness, Cheney wouldn't bite. That answer to the Gay marriage statement was great!

One of my favorite lines from Cheney was when he directed viewers to check out the facts on factcheck.com. That was classic! Take that John Boy!

yea, that was great!

CHENEY: Well, the reason they keep mentioning Halliburton is because they're trying to throw up a smokescreen. They know the charges are false.

They know that if you go, for example, to factcheck.com

I believe the same would go for Cheney. How far was his arm up Bush's ass during the whole presidency? Well judging by the smell it must have been since the beginning of the last campaign. :whip:

Just got a call from your proctologist. He found your head.

The administrators don't give out karma, you idiot. Other participants do. That means you're p*ssing off more people than you're connecting with. Maybe you should try a different discussion area than politics.
