Yes I remember that well and I read the book to. If I recall she's the one who impregnated herself wth a turkey baster. I think it was really sad for the non- bio mom though.

I just think that everyone is so quick to sue someone else. At some point we have to become responsible for the situations we get ourselves into instead of being vindictive.

There were a few cases that came up, some had to do with mom ok'ng adoption w/out even notifying dad that he had progeny. Some had to do with surrogates, and I do believe there were at least 2 that had to do with kids being switched at birth.

This woman was able to show, apparently, compelling evidence that a contract was entered into, and breached. Word is bond. People should take that philosophy to heart more carefully if you ask me.

You are so stupid.

I'm not looking for new business partners or even an intern or apprentice. If I wanted either I'd already have it.

You are humiliating the cat in the hat with your incorrigible stupidity.

Remember young dumbass, just because you believe it to be true, doesn't mean that it is.

:yay:

Shiki, I was just informed by an impartial third party that I cam across as an "extraordinary douche bag" instead of "My normal butthead self." I THINK that was constructive criticism...

So I apologize for my comments.

I don't think the woman in the original artcle should get a dime though!

Ahh!! When I was 17, I fell in

We met in PA at school and after graduation we went to our home states to be with family and make arrangements for our wedding...

I came here, got a place, a car, a job and set about getting my self ready to be a grown up..

He came to meet my family, and I met his...

How wonderful!!

When I was ready, I quit my job and packed my meager belongings in to my car and moved to Delaware to start my new life...It lasted 2 months.

He is now a registered sex offender because he knocked up a 16 year old 4 months after I moved back home!!

Ain't love grand!!! :lmao:

What?

I'm not allowed to apologize??

Apology accepted. Very nice. Thank you :p

I think she should be reimbursed for what it took from her, plus what she will have to do/go through to reestablish herself in her career. To me the message is: Marriage is not to be taken lightly. Buyer beware. You put a contract on the house, unless there is compelling reason, if you renege, you will forfeit some amount of capital. Marriage is an even bigger deal, entire families.

This is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time. Take him to court because he dumped you? Grow up! They were not married. And $150,000? Women like her give "normal" women a bad name.

So what is marriage if not a contract to be honored? Do we use the merit system, where honor is integral? Or if you ain't cheating, you ain't playing hard enough?

I saw this on the news and it stated the resaon he broke it off was because she had lied about her financial debts. When he found out she lied about that he realized she was probably lying about other crap too. Nothing like a lying goldigger.

Hopefully he will get it overturned on an appeal.
Maybe he should have gone to freecreditreport.com....

Didn't it say they were engaged, not married?

It did say they were engaged, in this specific case. But on broader terms than just this couple, do you think that the ends justify the means?

What do you think about this? Couple becomes engaged, woman quits job, relocates to be with man...2 days b4 wedding he dumps her via sticky note.

She sues for breach of contract and she wins. I agree with the decision in this case, and I think that for people who have a spouse who reneges on the contract which is marriage and especially family, it was a good day in court.

Marriage is not, to me, just about love. You don't have to marry someone for love, but marriage especially when there are children is a sound business decision. If one person just decides to bail with no compelling reason they should be held accountable to the contract. In the case of marriage the contract is not just social, but legal as well.

Perhaps if more people were held accountable for the marriage contract people would think a little harder about getting divorced, and a lot harder at getting married in the first place.
:coffee:
What about the spouse who finds their partner has been leading a double life?
Isn't that fraud?
I have long said that marriage is a legally binding contract...

Yeah, you should love the hell out of somebody before you marry them... but it's also a legally binding contract that you're signing when you sign the marriage license.

high five.

and when kids are involved the contract you have made is not only to your wife, but to the family.

edit: as an ordained minister I take it very seriously when asked to marry a couple.
