They didn't stop shooting around my house until around 6. I can't wait for the wake-up shots bright and early tomorrow morning.

I was travelling down Indian Bridge Road around 6:30 tonight and had a huge 10 point buck waltz across the road in front of me.

My Dad off loaded a nice ham on me before we left their house. I just got done cleaning it up to my liking and cutting it into 2 roasts. I also cut off a nice chunk to make me some jerky

Only allowed to use shot guns in southern, MD. You use a 1 oz. rifled slug shell. Deadly out to 200 yds but only really accurate to 100 yards.

They will travel quite far. Probably 1/2 a mile or so.

6:00?? I haven't read the regs. in quite awhile but I'm fairly certain hunting hours end at sunset. If someone was shooting that late, they probably weren't legal.

Sabot slug with a rifled barrel is the way to go, much more accurate than the rifled slugs, but Mike is right we can only use shotguns in this part of MD. There are conties that rifles are permitted but they are in the NW part of the state mostly.

Thanks. I'm not sure what a slug shell is. The only gun I've ever fired is a .22 rifle. I used to imagine hunters using .44s and Magnums.

You're not thinking about hunting then are you? We have a lot of faith in many who hunt these areas. We hope to God they're smart enough not to kill anyone.

No, I have no interest in hunting. I live near the woods, and I was initially concerned about my kids playing in the yard. I've been hearing gunshots in the woods for the past two days. I didn't know if deer hunters used ammo that had a range of a couple of miles.

I'm confused as to why hunters are restricted to shotguns here. Wouldn't a shotgun shell turn the deer into Swiss cheese?

It's a single projectile (so no Swiss cheese) and they don't have the range like high-powered rifles.
