I want to go to Florida...it's too cold here. :jameo: I need to feel the sunshine. I want to go to the dumpy little shrimp warehouse for lunch.
Speaking of shrimp...I had the most amazing dish while I was down there. I forget what it was called, but it was jumbo shrimp, stuffed with crab and spices, and then wrapped in bacon. I had it at a place called "Kelly's". It's in the original HQ building for Pan Am...neat place :yay:

...and yes, I am drooling just thinking about it

Out of all the pics posted, I like the man under the street light best. You have some awesome pics from your visit, and I love the roosters. Did you golf while there? You have to compete with the chickens and roosters for the golf course.

That's where I met FB, it's his home town.
The funny thing about that picture is that it was a guy on stilts. He was saying, "here, let me pose for you" and I got two shots of him trying to reach down to a bicycle and then I got that shot. I looked at it, liked it, and showed it to him...he said something like "what's the point of that?" because you can't see that he's on stilts. I said, "well yes, but why are you so close to the light? You can see that there is something not quite right."

Business  Got there Tuesday afternoon and came back on Friday. I would have gone down earlier and taken vacation time, but I had difficulties with dog-sitting.

Good on Ya

You probably noticed an unusually high number of blow-boats out and about...
Big sailing regatta that week.

I have always wanted to spend some time down there. The beaches I have heard are beautiful.

People...

What is the funny cat guy's name? I don't think I ever caught it. Of course, I couldn't understand much of what he said.

"hurry up, take your time, hurry up, take your time"

We spent a week there in mid-December. Don't hate. :huggy:
I've been several times and love it. This guy goes every year for a week and whenever he goes we get snow. Last year it was the day he got back :justice!!: He left Sunday - snow. We'll probably get a blizzard between now and Saturday.

Yup, tons of sail boats and sailors...even ran into one of my neighbors down there! :lmao:

I had a thought about that though...I need to get into the officiating of races/regattas. That would give me awesome opportunities for taking pictures :yay: Unfortunately, the sailing was going on waaaaaay off in the distance, so taking shots from land is...not so good.
