Im a liver onion guy myself. Had it alot when the kids were growing up. The wife and I just recently had some at home. We fix with just flour. But before the recent liver it was probably several years before we had any. Got it at a grocery auction really cheap no one wanted to bid on it.

Cracker Barrel used to but I don't know if they still do. Been a while since I had it there. Marie's Diner in La Plata is very good and available at lunch and dinner.

For your consideration ...

Is there such a thing as liver stew? I just can't stand eating cooked liver. Too mealy feeling in the mouth. But I would love to get the organ minerals and vitamin liver offers.

After reading the function of the liver in a body, and what it filters and stores, no way.
That's why they soak it in milk, to get the blood and other junk out. Yuk.

It funny to see menus from days past, lots of organ meats were offered, kidney, liver, brain, sweet breads. Did folk actually enjoy that stuff?

Did they enjoy it? Maybe. Back then, nothing was wasted of an animal. All of it was consumed, one way of another.

Don't forget Tongue. It's been a long time ago and I still have nightmares.

Cracker Barrel removed chicken livers a couple of years ago.

We will have to try Okada for their chicken livers, thanks.

When we go to Silver Diner, I've had their liver and onions. It is pretty good.

Thanks everyone.
