Living with Parents at 27

When I was 26, my mother came to live with me. Her relationship had gone sour and she couldn't pay the rent by herself. A few months after moving in, she found out that she had breast cancer and would be unable to work while she was going through treatment.

I think it's all in what you make of it. I know a very neat family that all lived together in a huge house so they could provide childcare for one another, spend time with each other, and support each other while they were working and going to school. Very neat set up in which they all contributed to the household and it saved them a lot of money and from a lot of stress.

What now?!
Hell 27 is nothing...I know a married couple...in their late 40's still living with their parents and aren't working. Can I say MMMMOOOOUUUUCCCHHHHH and how dumb the parents are for letting get away with it for so many years..

Don't get me wrong, while I love my adult children, there comes a time when you can only help them so much. Work is work, a paycheck is a paycheck...no matter what you get paid. You didn't have it before, you can surely use it now...just saying

I know a few POSs like that as well. I quit answering the phone when they call a long time ago.

I was going to respond with something along these lines to sonsorae and the 40-somethings who live with parents. Sometimes there are family situations that require adult children to live with their parents, for whatever reason. If everyone is happy, I don't see what the big deal is.

So it seems the common negativity doesn't stem from adult children actually living with their parents but rather adult children who are free-loaders and have no desire to offload from their parents... :yay:

I think so. It's more of a lazy no good worthless failure to launch thing than a family arrangement that benefits everyone.
