You need to wait until after First Frost for wild rabbit. They carry parasites and diseases, such as tularemia.
A good freeze will usually kill the the one's that are actively infected. Cooking thoroughly will take care of the others.

I've since heard that someone in Queen Tree Rd area had one too.... could very well all be the same one. Kinda hope so!
Southern MD is not a place for black bears. If DNR can tranq it, they will haul it back to Western MD.
Had a big possum come by early this morning.
That looks like a raccoon. I had to dispatch a rabid raccoon not too long ago.

In one frame, it has that distinct rat-like possum tail.
I have not seen any raccoons in this part of the neighborhood.
It must be the gravel/rocks making the pattern I'm seeing.
Saw a rabbit in the side cam for the 1st time in a few weeks. I think they had to find other digs after Chuck moved under the garden shed.

Found a juvenile Eastern Worm Snake under a portable raised bed I moved to cut the grass.
I am given to understand they avoid contact with anything but their tiny prey and are harmless to anything bigger them them.

I get those in the garden from time to time, which given the amount of big fat worms in there when we plant, makes sense.

I caught a red fox taking a wizz in my flower bed a few nights ago on my camera.
Last evening he was hunting a bunny in my yard. Bunny escaped because I was outside.
Gorgeous animal and looked healthy.

Big red fox visited early this morning. I have a feeding station by the garage for the local free roamers. Have a few possums that come by, too.

Opossums love cat food. They got along well with the cats.
Momma even brought the babies.

Possums are also good at keeping the tick population down.
