In addition to tommorrows New Years Day run from Motovation Cycles there are two more events I've found here in Southern Maryland.

ABATE of Southern Maryland is sponsoring the "Blue Balls and Blue Boobs Poker Run" no doubt named for the rare Southern Maryland sea birds of the same names... :lmao: The flyer says "On your bike or in your car, just be there" registration is at the Dew Drop Inn in Hollywood MD at noon. The contact info... sandy_20634@yahoo.com or 301-737-1287

The second event is the "Second Outback Indoor Bike Show" a peoples choice biker build off. They're boasting more than 50 vendors and a bikini contest. This one is in Waldorf at the Capitol Clubhouse behind Best Buy. www.roaddogsmc.org or 301-440-5224 for info.

So what's tomorrows weather lookin' like for this ride, and how many folks are really going to show?

Any sport bike riders going that you know of, or should I dig out the cruiser instead?

I won't be able to make it but I can't be the only guy with a Rotch Crocket that was planning to go. Weather.com says sunny in the morning and slowly moving toward overcast by night fall. No rain in the forecast until the Jan 2nd.

Maybe the question I need to ask is how many other American V-twins will show and are they welcome? Both my bikes are Amer. twins.

We have a few in our chapter and there will be quite a few at the Double T diner in Annapolis from some other chapters.
Also have a Crotch Rockets, scooters, wings. Pretty much anything in the SCRC.
Might want to famalirize yourself with the riding guidelines if you're planning on going.

Holy crap... is this for tomorrows ride? It's nothing I haven't been involved with before, but doesn't this take the fun out of it? I used to ride with 2nd Brigade (Vietnam Vets brother club) in Philly. So formation riding is nothing new to me. It's just hard to get the blood flowin' on a formation ride. I know it's safer, but dang...definitely kills the fun factor, doesn't it?

Well..... now that you mention it..

GoldWings have never been built anywhere else but here in the US..

I got nothing against American Bikes. But would like to see Harley come out with ONE real performance bike.. Maybe a Transverse Twin, or four.. Why can't ONE American bike be about performance?

Lets see a Harley out of the Box with 170 HP.. where the rice rocket riders would be in awe.. THAT would be awesome.

Well, they could buy japanese engines if they HAVE to, just build a Harley around it. Lets get an AMERICAN bike on the race track and WIN, I'd love to see an AMerican Bike Company racing in Europe and winning.

I mean this is how Harley and Indian became famous.. Racing and WINNING!!

In the Nov 05 issue of Cycle World there's a quick blurb with a pic on page 30 of the Harley Davidson "Hayabusa Hunter" it's a 500Lb 165HP bike based on the V-Rod. It's called the VRXSE Screamin' Eagle Destroyer. The drawback is it's not street legal and runs $31K.

HD has a way to go before they're competitive in that market but hey it's a start.
