The guy tripped the latch on the trunk to put a rope/twine through it. Turn the key in the trunk and at the same time put a small (phillips) screwdriver in that hole and flip it open. Guaranteed.

If I didn't explain that good....I'll take a picture and post it.

solution:
On the left is how it looks now, insert screwdriver as in middle pic, flip latch open WHILE TURNING TRUNK KEY. the normal open position is the pic on the right.

Why would you hold it against the local department store for how their dude decided to tie your trunk hood down...:confused: I don't know that I would expect a minimum wage local department store dude to know the best way to tie down a trunk hood...:shrug:
