That happened to a friend of mine when we were at lunch there. Ick.

Not a huge Lonestar fan. Today I went to Blue Wind Gourmet with some pals and it was wonderful as always - the crabcake was one of the best I've ever had.

Blue Wind is great and not a bad wine selection either!!! :otter: :buddies:

Never had a bad meal at the Lonestar in Waldorf, use to go regularly, but since Texas Roadhouse opened I havent been back to Lonestar.

:yeahthat: I have always had a good meal at waldorf, cajun ribeye is my favorite and I think they have the best onion and good ranch for the salad.

They're out to get us
There are so many "Bennigan" type places it isn't missed - Applebees, Ruby Tueszday, TJ Friday, Chillis... and I probably missed some. Granted they each have their "signature" but basically they all have a very similiar menu.

I'm guessing the OP was about the Lonestar in LP. Crap building to start with and not the greatest location either. Unlike Outback, Lonestar remodeled another restuarant and I'm sure the A/C wasn't on the list of things that were remodeled.

Shoot, they dropped the black been soup? No peanut shells on the floor, no dancing and now no black bean soup. To hell with them I say!

On the contrary, their location is probably why they're still in business. It's one of the nearest restaurants to the base and they have that 15 minute lunch policy to boot. It's always busy at lunch mainly for those reasons. If they were located near Outback, for instance, they probably wouldn't be in business.

I don't understand how people can even go off base to eat and be back in under an hour let alone drive up 235 or down GMR. I think on average, just to go to Wa Wa for gas, it takes almost the full hour, at least 40 - 45 minutes from the time I walk out the door until I walk back in.

You must be one of the slower drivers on 235???

I have not been back in lonestar since my son and I went and the waitress decided after we left to tack on a "0" to the tip amount and gave herself a 50.00 tip rather then a 5.00 tip. When I called management they promised a refund which i never got. Know they are just ignoring my calls.

You are probably one of those people who steals the bucket of peanuts when you leave. The 50 bucks was probably for the merchandise you took.

You should have shown up in person with a copy of your receipt and a printout of the bank charge. Worked perfectly well for me at a different establishment. They forked the cash right over to me, no questions asked.

The last 5 days I've been by Lonestar, the parking lot is empty. Has it closed? It is time for my once-a-month-whether-I-need-it-or-not fix of mediocre food and less than stellar service.
I went by today and the parking lot was full.

Where are you on base? If you work somewhere within 5 minutes of the gate, that's about 10 minutes driving. Lonestar has a 15 minute order to eat policy to it's possible to get in and out of there in 45 minutes or less. But then again when I go to Wa Wa it only takes me about 20 minutes round trip off base if I pick up a sub so it must take more time for you.

Lonestar has roaches that will sit with you at the table. We decided that we didn't really want to keep them company and left.

The roaches at Ihop don't mind sitting with you either.

I know most places will probably have a few or more or less but I would rather share my time with my family at the table not the roaches.
