I was at the Animal Shelter the other day, and saw a Beagle- Sized Orange Cat there. He was young, but not a baby. That little guy probably weighed about 25+ pounds, with NO FAT on him either.

Maine Coons are BAD.... I would have given mine away last week I was so mad at her. Right now, she is being good batting around dog food on my kitchen floor. Sure I'll have to clean up a mess later but it isn't going to be as bad as what she did to my living room last week. :faint:

They are very high energy!!!

OMG I hope it's not the one I posted about that someone was giving away? She told me the cat was with a foster for now. It was an orange cat that weighed about 25 lbs she said.

The male I had would eat my house plants, so I took them all to work (the houseplants not the cats lol). I guess now they are workplants right?

Anyway he used to sharpen his nails all the time on the furniture, so I got him several more cardboard scratchy things, and put catnip on them, he was from then on trained to use them thankfully.

I saw what looked like a Maine Coon Mix at Tri-County about a week ago.

This big guy was in their Cat Room. So if it IS him, he will get adopted quick. He's HUGE, and loveable DSH/ Orange. Probably under a Year old.

Mine scratches on stuff she is suppose. She does not like to be left alone at all. If I'm in the house and walk outside, she'll cry and cry so I take her outside whenever I can with her walking jacket. She picks on my other cat that hates her guts whenever I'm not in the room to tell her NO but her and the dog get along very well - always chasing after each other and playing. She gets into things. It is nothing for her to snatch make-up brushes, drink out of your glass, knock things over on tables, whine to open the blind, stalk and play bite, get into closets, lift the heat register up and climb inside... the list goes on and on. She is very smart, that is clear to me and she is demanding when she wants something.

I'm glad she doesn't just laze around all day but I would welcome her taking it down a notch. Hopefully as she gets older, she will. Her foster mommy warned me and I thought, well, if she is confined maybe that is why. Nope... she is just a bad ass.

The male I had was mellow also, a low ranking one. Although if you closed him in a room he would dig at the floor by the door trying to get out. He also ate my houseplants as I mentioned before. Other than that he was pretty easy to have around. I will have another Maine Coon (mix) one day.

One of the cats we took to the animal shelter a week or so ago reminded me of a Maine Coon... big feet but no extra toes, same head shape. I thought at the time it might be mixed. It was probably 4-5 months old and not wild as far as stray cats go. Shelter person thought it'd be adoptable.

The day I went to Tri-County to look for a Maine Coon Male I picked up a big one that was rather disagreeable and grumbly. So I moved on to look at the other cats, and was going to leave. Figured I'd try again for a MC another day. Then I saw the pathetic flea-bitten bald female that I picked out that became LulU

Here is my little fury bad girl. I'm sure it doesn't help that when I discipline her, I tend to pick her up and hug her. :ohwell:

She is very pretty. Mine is a blue male with yellow eyes. How old is she? Maybe she will calm down as she gets older. My boy is 4 and gets more mellow every year he gets older. He is a spaz though!

Thank you. That is why it is hard to stay mad at her.

She is about 6-7 months old now. That picture was taken 2 months ago. According to her foster mom, the little felon was brought in by a police officer when she was 4 weeks old. We adopted her in Oct. and she was said to be 10 weeks.

She has all sorts of different meows, some silent, some very low and others very loud. She also chirps when she plays. I walk her to try and burn off some of her energy but I should have known better. If our JRT mix cannot wear her out, I will not do it either. I cannot believe others say theirs is so calm. I really thought (based on this experience) that all Maine Coons were high-energy.

Here is a picture of her in her walking jacket. She was watching the squirrels.

I need one of those jackets for Tajii!
Where did you get it, may I ask?

On Facebook look for Crazy K Farm. These jackets are the same ones shown on that TV show I hate my cat.

I also posted a cat walking thread and some tips on how to do it. But... I didn't even bother with the tips. I slapped that jacket on her and took her out - no problems or issues. She loves it.
