Here is a classic example of the cost of a Pet, and Emergency Care. My Dog Molly (R.I.P.), was in great health one minute, and Dead the next. LITTERALLY. She came in from her daily Jog on the Beach, and made a throat clearing sound. I saw blood. Scooped her up, and rushed her to the Vet. Here is exactly what they did for her. Wrote me a Prescription for Carafate, to stop the bleeding. They didn't have any on hand. They took an X-Ray which showed she had Cancer from her Throat, to her Anus. Keep in mind, her appetite was GREAT, and she showed NO outward signs of anything being wrong with her until then. I looked at the X-Ray, and made the decision to euthanize her. The next day, my Husband went in to settle up the Bill, because I was so upset, that I just walked out of there. The Bill for that little bit of stuff, came up to $629.42, and I didn't have a Dog to show for it. Animals cost some serious money, but to me, it's money well spent, if you have a Healthy Dog, and Happy Dog. I have a lot of Pets, and most of my Pay Check is spent on getting the best of everything that I can. That is no exaggeration either.

:yay:.. see it all the time and I do understand.. my GSD had cancer that had spread to his lungs...no signs till "the day" i had to make the final choice.

(side note... carafate does stop bleeding... it just coats the GI track and is used for many reasons to do so. ... and hard to think they would be out of it... seeing that it comes in tablet form (1gram tabs) and liquid form)

Although mine, I had to rescue. Like pay for her to fly to me, with a crate, then get caught up on all her shots.

It is expensive like no other (I have no kids so I am sure that is more)

But I am trying to convince her to get her lazy ass a job. Or start collecting welfare checks.

:biggrin:.... one of my dogs has a job... when he has a gig.. it pays him over 100 bucks an hour!!

You are not a bad Dog Mom for not brushing her Teeth! I tried with my new Pup, but it didn't work. I give her raw Beef Bones, and other Chewies, and that does the trick. Molly was almost 11 when she had her last Well Pet Check, and they said her teeth looked great. She got the same as my new one does. I found that surprizing, because my Vet PUSHES the Dental Health issuse BIG time. In responce to Kwillia's post

I have been using the stuff to put in the water.... not bad :yay:

...... see a difference in a few of the dogs.... their teeth were not that bad (but I do brush as well)... still have some work on the others

I don't brush her teeth. She goes to Petco for a bath...I let her lay around all day sleeping. She eats IAMs, has a raw hide or two laying around at all times. I make her lay out on the front porch with me in the evenings.

I am a horrible pet mom.

She eats IAMs, Junk food... what's next McD's nuggets...:smack:

has a raw hide or two laying around at all times. You ARE trying to kill her... :smack:

I make her lay out on the front porch with me in the evenings. Again with her being forced to stagnate...:smack:

You should know, she likes Chic-fil-a nuggets way better. But wont eat french fries.

Mine loves to help pick pea pods from the garden and eats 'em like they are going out of style... she's pizzed pea season is over...:ohwell:


She loves lettuce too... but only if it has ranch dressing on it... :doh:

not that gig :killingme... he is a model for an HR company.... :jet:.. he even had a Meet and Greet.... WTF!!! He had women huggin all over him... pressing their :gossip: all over him and kissing him, tweeting about him.... WTF...
