ObL was pretty clear what the problem is: the US is a force of evil that brings corruption to the Islamic world. They'd all be peachy keen if it weren't for us and our hedonistic western ways influencing their women and young people.

If the above is the true reason. I can understand.

That may be what they are saying, but this isn't 1973 or 1982 and there are no huge war stocks of state-of-the-art, Soviet-provided, tanks, missiles, and other weapons at the disposal of potential allies. The armies of the Arab countries are shadows of there former selves, consisting of a small fraction of equipment that still is functional. I don't see any Arab country having the moxie to take on Israel and the United States. They got a great look at how a broken-down Army using dated Soviet-era equipment does against a modern US-equipped army, so I don't see many countries that are likely to offer any support beyond words.

I also think that all of the countries out there know that this is really a power play by Iran, and they don't want to see Iran gaining any power.

They were talking about that on the news, why the Arab countries aren't supporting Hezbollah/Lebanon. The analyst said just what you said - they don't want Iran gaining any power because they're scary enough as it is.

Iran is a little more than scary. People laugh at Ahmadinejihad and say he is just a lunatic but......his rhetoric and actions are part of his EVIL islamic plan. He truly believes that an all out world wide war will hasten the return of their 'messiah'. He believes that it is his onus to bring about the showing of their savior, the long awaited Imam. If you do a little digging about him, you will find that he is NOT nuts, only an overly religious zelot that is a "true" follower of the death cult known as Islam.
