Lowe's Of St. Mary's

What on earth happened to make this place such a crap hole? I swear, I don't know if there's a Lowe's in Haiti, but if there is, it HAS to be cleaner and more organized than this disaster. Who's running this fire hazard anyway? Aisles blocked. Crap everywhere. Barely any help. Their inventory has to be all jacked up. I'm happy to make the drive to the Dorf for some sanity and service. Definitely not what it used to be.
I've been saying this for at least the past 5 years! Hiring people who don't know the difference between and nail and a screw, 13 checkout lanes and only 2-3 open on the weekends. Self-checkout might work, it might not! I've no idea how they ever pass fire inspections. I still don't understand why Home Depot doesn't open a store down here!

Yep, worked several years ago. Department I was in would have a dozen workers on weekends. Don't think anyone is assigned there now.
Trouble hiring, too, as well as retention.

Hiring Event on the 4th netted 9 hires for a most of the day affair.

I just went there today.. I watched the forklift driver pick up a loose pallet of lumber and lift it over some child and her father. Stuff laying all over like stacks of doors blocking aisles that some kids could easily top over on themselves

The place is a tragedy waiting to happen

Must learn to be up with the times and have camera ready to record at a moments notice to capture idiocy when confronted. Take a clue from examples such as from BLM and ANTIFA peaceful protesters. Don't you want to monetize video content? Or possible negotiations with Lowes?

I've seen some bonehead moves in my years there, but That is reportable, and likely a terminable safety violation.

I was lucky that everything I needed was available via their website. Nothing to pick through to find one that's just right. I placed my order at 10:00pm Saturday night and was able to pick up at the service desk before 10:00am Sunday morning. It would be different if I were picking out lumber, but everything I needed was retail packaged.

Lack of proper department staffing will do that to you, along with truck loads of As Seen On TV stuff.

BUT, Lowe's now has a co-Store Manager.
The thing that gets me is the shelves in say millwork will be half empty but a cart of it is just plopped down with a stack of plywood on or or something where you cant even get to it.

A nice older lady employee thought it was hilarious I went to tools and got a crowbar and opened a crate of edging, she even lent a hand.

That last sounds like one of my work friends, with whom I once worked in Plumbing. She's been one of the Pro-desk Specialists a couple years now.

Damn, Lowes makes this too easy, they sent me a 2nd customer survey request.
People get the things they deserve from the choices they make. From stores to schools to elected officials. If people tolerate crap then that's what they'll get, especially from retail businesses. It doesn't matter whether it's the world's largest chain to the smallest local Mom and Pop (which very often, in my experience, are the worst offenders).
