...and all generations shall call me blessed. Catholics literally do this referring to Mary as the Blessed Virgin Mary. For those who don't, why not?
I regard Mary as "Blessed" and Highly Favored" of God as she was specifically chosen for the Divine purpose of giving birth to the Christ-Child. However, that is where her role ends. According to the New Testament, Mary and Joseph consummated their marriage together after Christ was born and Mary and Joseph proceeded to have natural born children as mentioned in the New Testament accounts.
While Mary can be referred to as "Blessed", she did not remain a perpetual virgin as claimed by the RCC nor was Mary "assumed" body and soul into Heaven to be elevated to a position of being "Mediatrix," "Advocate," "Helper," "Co-Redemptrix," "Queen of Heaven," "Spouse of the Holy Spirit (God's wife)," and a co-mediator alongside Jesus who is able to help souls get into Heaven, etc.
Additionally, the Holy Bible does not mention that idols in the likeness of Mary (or likeness of anything) are to be formed and revered as "mediators and helpers" nor are feasts to be established in their honor when all glory, praise and honor is to be given to Christ our Lord and Saviour and no one or nothing else.
The New Testament Jesus is NOT accompanied in Heaven by His "assumed" mother, Mary, where she supposedly reigns as Queen over all things, Mediatrix, Advocate, co-Redemptrix, spouse of the Holy Spirit, etc., nor are there "saints" and angels there to also hear and respond to prayers as claimed by the RCC.
BTW:
The New Testament Jesus does not send people to a spiritual half-way house (purgatory) to be completely cleansed before they can enter Heaven as claimed by the RCC. Apparently the shed Blood of the "RCC Jesus" was not adequate enough to assure the promise of Eternal Life in the here and now and parishioners need to go through a type of spiritual punishment phase in the afterlife.
The RCC is preaching their "salvation" via another gospel and another Jesus and NOT the True New Testament Jesus.
You should have known this was coming - but, hey, you asked!
