I go to the hair cuttery. The stylists are very nice. Do you know who was the snooty one? What did she look like?
It is their policy not to hang flyers in the salon. I know because last year I wanted to post one.
Who was the snot??? I will make sure I don't ask for her.

Speaking of that some guy was riding around a couple weeks ago trying to sell homework books for the kids. I can't stand for people to come knocking on the door selling crap.

Yet another reason for concealed carry laws.

I was out handing out the flyers for the CRE Holiday Benefit Car Show and Yard Sale [to take place on Sunday] to all the shops in the Little Shops and the Shops at Food Lion.... everyone was happy to get them...

EXCEPT for the Hair Cuttery....They told me that I could just "take that back" because they don't do that... I told them I was going to let people know.... They told me to "go right ahead" so I am....

I believe that solicitation is unwanted and illegal in all of the area shopping centers. Your lucky the local cops didn't catch you. The Hair Cuttery does not have a cork board for local events - therefore they don't want your flyer. It does not matter who they get thier business from - it's none of your business if they don't want your flyer. Get a grip!

I was giving them to the shop owners and employees... not the customers... [well I did see two guys that I did hand them to but they were also employees].... I wasn't handing out the flyers to everyone... :lmao:

She has the last station on the right.... dark hair... very busy.... always very busy....

I might have been a little snooty too because she was shooing me away like a begger....

I get my hair done there too.... well not anymore.... don't want to get it shaved off because I started this thread.... :lmao:

:howdy: Go to the haircuttery over in st.mary's by target. All of their stylists are really nice. They have a ton of girls working so there is hardly ever a wait.

What hair place in Lubsy/ Solomons went out of business because the owner wasn't paying the rent?

Son was in getting his hair cut, when the sheriff came in and told the workers they had to vacate the premises, they were being evicted for non payment of rent. NONE of the employees had any idea.. until the Sheriff showed up.

All the stylists knew what was going on. The owner told them he was not renewing the lease which was up. They were surprised at how fast it happened though, I think they thought they had until july. I think it's a maater of time before all of his shops are gone. They are not making much money these days with all the competition.

 She was at Unique Chic for 10 years. I guess she isn't in charge over at the new place.

I think she might be glad not to be the boss anymore. She's a good stylist and a sweet person. she'll be ok no matter where she works. Now she can just be a peanut on the bus like the rest of us!:lmao:

The Sheriff doesn't come to evict people that don't renew their lease.

He evicts people that don't pay their rent (usually for several months). BIG difference.

Bob that could be true. I am only saying what the manager of the shop was told. I know the girls were upset that they didnt get to tell their customers they were closing. The whole situation was crazy. I would not work for someone who did that. He offered for the girls to go to some of his other shops and I don't think any of them did. Good for them!

Don't Trash where I work, Ok?

I've thought a lot about how to post to this thread, so here goes.

It is a violation of company policy for us as hairdressers and as a salon leader for us to distribute literature, notices, or signs, and/or solicitation on company premises. This includes posting of baby showers, girl and boy scout sales and any personal business information such as Avon, etc. It is also posted on our promotional signage hanging out front that no solicitation (is allowed).

This also includes the flyer that you wanted to post at our salon, Becky. I wasn't working on Monday when this incident happened, however, I've heard a lot about it not only from our shop but also (apparently) from other Hair Cuttery Managers in the SoMD area. Don't say bad things about my manager.

You did admit, Becky, that you weren't very nice first. That much I'll give you. But to TRASH our entire salon on the basis that YOU didn't get what you wanted is a underestimation of the FABULOUS customer SERVICE that all of us as a TEAM strive to give to our clients, friends, and family. WE DO CARE about children in our salon. We have entire families that come to see us.

I know I'm grateful for my success, however modest, in my shop. You can go to other shops, sure, but I BET you won't get the level of customer service that we provide, along with great hairdressing SKILLS. So, before I go any further, I'd like to give the Help Desk number if YOU have a complaint about our no solicitation policy, which is the correct way to go on this issue.

I have been to the Lusby Salon on two different occassions. Both times my son and I waited over two hours for a child cut. After waiting almost a hour and half at the second visit, I asked the stylist how much longer the wait would be. She was VERY Nasty to me and said when we are finished with the clients we are working on now (two perms).

I did call and complain and was given a coupon for a free cut, which we used at the St Mary's location. I will NEVER go to the Lusby location again.

I totally understand the no solicitation policy. Food Lion has a similar policy. CRE has a similar policy.

My problem was the way I was treated. She even made a motion with her hands to shew me away like a begger and I hadn't even finished my sentence.

In the future, if someone comes into your shop and asked to "leave a flyer" [which is all I got out before being shewed] it would be better if someone said "the company has a no solicitation policy". It takes only a couple of seconds and it's understandable.

I admit... I did get upset when she made a motion at me like I am some begger. It was a mutual intolerance.....

Love the Hair Cuttery across the bridge... and I've gotten a couple of good hair cuts at the Lusby Salon when it first opened....

Staying out of the posting flyer issue. I've taken my son to your shop on two occasions and asked can anyone do a flat top for my son. OMG both times, two different stylists, they didn't come close to flat top. My poor son, the last time I had to take him to the barber and they had to do a different type of style so that he looked human. And you say we won't get the level of customer service at other shops, well I've been going to Hair Port for 10 years and you don't even come close to them. We might pay a few extra bucks, but they are the best in the Lusby/Solomon area.

You have turned a public service issue into a personal issue. There are many ways to advertise, one being the Community Calendar on Southern MD. On Line. How about the local newspapers that have free listings for community events? Just for S&G check back in some of the places where you left your flyer. I will bet that 90% of them hit the round file soon after you left.
