I can't let her help b/c she'll be with her mother until right before the party. It is her weekend with them, but she's letting us take them to the party. :yay:

I was just thinking....if I do the "doll" cake, where do I put the candles? I don't want the doll to catch fire. Could you imagine that?! :jet:

Maybe a sheet cake would be better...... decisions, decisions. :ohwell:

Aww Do both, you only turn 2 once :killingme

Can you bake a cake in a glass mixing bowl? They're clear glass. I don't think they're Pyrex, but does it matter?

It has to be "oven safe" or else it will crack as a result of the heat. I have a doll cake pan... but you don't live near me...:ohwell:

I think you would be ok as long as it's the thick glass like Pyrex..

Crap. Why does the stepmother always have to be evil? There aren't any Disney movies about the really nice stepmothers who do all sorts of nice stuff for the kids. :ohwell:

OOOHhh the Queen was from Sleeping Beauty.

I think Betty Crocker makes a bowl that is shaped as a dress and you fill the inside with ice cream after it is cooked in a special bowl. That would be cool.

Mabye I can just make a shell out of paper mache or something. Then I'll cut a hole in the top and put it on top of the sheet cake...and I can just decorate the paper mache with icing! I need to start it tonight.

Hell, in that case just use a lampshade.

I am so very blessed
Pampered Chef sells a measuring bowl that they call their large "Batter Bowl" that is the perfect shape for this project. It has nice sloping sides that very closely mimics the drape of a long dress. I think the brochure that comes with the bowl even mentions that it would be perfect for this.

She is 2... A sheet cake will work fine. Call your local grocery stores and ask the bakery departments if they have the edible Snow white cartoon that one puts on top of a cake. They may let you buy it seperately and then you just decorate around it.

You should be able to freehand a snow white just fine.... I did several cakes over the years and found that the best way to do this was to get a coloring book on the subject that was designed for younger kids. The pictures are pretty basic rather than overly elaborate with detail.
