HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- Maryland State police said a Boonsboro man was killed on his motorcycle Friday evening a short time after picking up the bike at a dealership on Edgewood Drive.
Police said it happened about 6:30 p.m. on Alternate Route 40, west of Cool Hollow Road.

According to police, 22-year-old Tyler Curry was traveling with his brother, who was riding another motorcycle, when Curry rode into the oncoming lane and was struck by a Mack truck.

Curry was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the truck driver wasn't injured.

Curry rode into the oncoming lane and was struck by a Mack truck
:ohwell: guess he won't make that mistake again\
Those left hand corners can be fatal. Even staying on your side, it's easy to lean over the line

My cousin bought a new bike a year ago. He was in Ca. at the time. By Fresno if I remember correctly. Anywho, he bought the bike from a dealer in southern Oregon (why I don't know) and took the bus up there after work and rode it home. Wrecked it on the way home when he fell asleep.

Need more info.. First Bike?? Licensed rider? Experience? Type and size of bike?

And this one takes the cake.. Hit a Mack Truck. Was wearing a helmet...
Some accidents a helmet, or a car, isn't going to help.

And I was guessing a right turn, not a left.. Forgot to push the right handlebar, then target locked on the Bulldog..

People just have to be careful and use some common sense.
State police say two Virginia men were killed Sunday morning when their motorcycles hit a station wagon on Route 50 near Easton, Md
Makes it sound like the bikes were at fault. :burning: The news last night said an 80 something year old lady turned left in front of the bikes. The bikes were just cruising home from the beach on Rt.50, common sense didn't help them.

If 100 MPH in a 50 is "just cruising home", what would you consider to be excessive?
The motorcyclists, who were wearing helmets, all were traveling at speeds of more than 100 mph when they collided with the station wagon, said Trooper Ian C. Rola.

kind of figured with the Wagon on it's side, they had to be haulin..
A couple of big 800+ lb cruisers or Goldwings smacking into the side of a Ford Focus would probably knock it over.

Yes 100 in a 50 is excessive. Their speed hadn't been reported last night when I saw the news and it wasn't listed in the first article.
they didn't say it was dumb-ass kids on crotch rockets doing double the speed limit.

This is where the common sense comes in...if they had been going the speed limit, they may have had time to take appropriate action when the car pulled in front of them.

If they were going CLOSE to the speed limit, they still would have been 2 or 3 miles away when the accident happened.
