Back in the day most women smoked when they were pregnant, and we'll note that the human race isn't extinct.

It's a shame that the nanny state has made hall monitors out of everyday citizens so they think they can project their own neuroses onto others at-will.

I smoked when I was pregnant, both times. My daughters turned out just fine. I also would have a beer or two when I was eating crabs, no problem there. My mother never smoked, pregnant or otherwise, however she did tell me that when she was pregnant with me she craved sardines of all things. Said she sent my father to the store and he brought home 24 cans of sardines in mustard sauce. She not only ate all the sardines, but washed them down with a PBR. LOL. And today... I love sardines.

With those kinds of numbers, wherever you got them from, I would guess that women who smoke during pregnancy could only increase their chances of having a healthier baby.

Tobacco was introduced to America in 1609. You should have seen the infant mortality rates before then.

Who the #### cares?

You can legally turn a fetus into a baby-smoothie and nobody bats an eye. What's a little nicotine and tar compared to that?
