I remeber when I thought weed was cool... Then I grew up and looked at all the dudes who were over 30 and still smoked and realized that these people were retarded..... and probably were gonna lose their jobs, or just continue to be a loser forever.

funny thing is that is just a sterotype. I know plenty of people who still smoke and they are not even close to looking like a loser. They are in high paying jobs, active members in the community and have their shiat together.

I don't smoke but I don't cut down those that do. I know plenty of losers that are #######s that never touch the stuff but drink.

Weed is not a gateway drug. I've smoked it and have NO interest in trying meth, crack/cocaine, heroin, ecstacy, etc.

Weed does not kill you the first time you smoke it.

They (the government, DARE, schools, etc.) at least need to be honest with our youth and cut the crap.

That was on him. Don't blame weed for that. He is responsible for his own actions and if it wasn't weed it would have been something else. Many people drink and are not alcoholics, then you have people who smoke pot and are responsible about it. You would be surprised at the people who smoke.

one of my ex's used to smoke on a regular basis.....so I did it while i was dating him. It was fun until I got pretty violent with one of his guy friends...all in good fun of course! Yeah good times....but you get older and realize its ok every once in a while, not a regular basis...I mean just think about what you could be doin while you are smoking a bowl

Given recent trends in nanny state laws, all three should be illegal within ten years. So what is more likely: pot being legalized, or alcohol and tobacco joining pot as illegal drugs?

My guess is that in 10 years, everything will be illegal except being fed intraveniously inside our steel bubble-wrap lined pods with TV and teh Interwebz broadcasted directly into our brain.

Alcohol will never be illegal again, especially when there's a huge nationwide call to lower the drinking age.

There are some who want to lower the drinking age, but they will never do it. MADD is too powerful, and accident data backs up their view. The concept that "they'll do it anyway" is defeatism, and the cowardly way out.

There won't be another prohibition, but you can bet that the anti-alcohol movement will be effective. Laws continue to get tougher, and taxes are going up. Instead of an outright ban, the nanny state will tax and regulate it out of existence.

And what about those from times past. Our first President was a grower and from what I can tell a user. It wasn't until 1937 that it became an issue and that was due to chemical companies making synthetic fibers for rope that wanted the hemp industry shut down.

Drunk driving is illegal anyways, why does it matter what demographic is causing more accidents while being drunk?

The fact that kids are going to war at 18 is a powerful argument to a good amount of the population, and that's the wave some in Congress are trying to surf.
