Martin Luther King Jr., Day.

:larry: Martin Luther King Jr., Day. link HERE.

We can be thankful that this man lived and that the demand for civil rights happened.

Because they stopped a lot of the horrible racial bigotries by the white population.

Of course there is still much to be done to end the racism of the modern racist.

... there is still much to be done...
Like asking the Feds to reinforce affirmative action and sending welfare to irresponsible bebe momma's, right?

Why do you believe assaulting white people is an appropriate method to end racism?

You took the troll bait... This douchbag lives for this, ignore him, let him die...

Die JPC, crawl into a dark corner and end your miserable existance, no one will miss you, just blow your brains out....

I am doing other more serious things elsewhere; I figured I could have a laugh or two before the night ends.

You seem to be taking the bait a lot yourself lately; even if you're condemning him he revels in it.

:coffee: Sure "hvp" is being sarcastic but there is much truth in those words.

The concept of Affirmative Action ( [Link HERE] Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy) was and is a noble and worthy cause.

And giving welfare to qualifying single parent families is our duty, and to NOT do it would be reprehensible.
Why do you believe assaulting white people is an appropriate method to end racism?
:coffee: I am not assulting white people by saying the whites need to repent and make right our wrongs.

There is nobility in admitting that we were wrong and we are wrong,

and to hide from our guilt is worse then being asulted.

:howdy: To express such hostility then it does seem that the least she could do is to explain just what it is that she is hostile about.

Does "Sonsie" just not like Martin Luther King Jr.? or she does not like me talking about the black folks?

Her words are so uncivilized that this "Sonsie" might be one of those pretentious white females link, or maybe she is still a young child and she can not express her feelings very competantly.

So "Sonsie", what is troubling you girl-friend?

Why sit there and poke with a stick... let it go - you already know she doesn't like you and now your looking for an argument with the girl?

Put down your bottle of lotion and find your kicks somewhere else... Andy might want to argue in another thread... so in your feeble attempt to show SOMD your love for the holiday why don't you practice what you are trying to preach there bro'.

BTW - what the hell does Ghandi have to do with MLK Jr.'s holiday?

Did you know he went to India in '59 and studied his non-violent beliefs and adopted them into his protesting? -or are you just adding fuel to get a rise out of someone?

Your 36th President...

:bigwhoop: I do not know what you are talking about either.

He is referring to President Lyndon B Johnson - he signed the Civil Rights Act into law. It guaranteed that "No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination"

This was signed during the MLK Jr. civil rights era...

:coffee: She wrote the death and die stuff and I only asked why.

But I agree that I will let it go, and yes I was trying to stir her up.

:coffee: You kind of answered your own question,

that MLK Jr., got the concept of non violent civil disobediance from Gandhi.

In fact Gandhi taught it to the whole world, and thank God he did. :cartwheel

:coffee: I did know all that, but I thought he might have been refering to the recent event of Hillary Clinton saying that LBJ was to get more credit then MLK, or some other slight inuendo being made.

Still he put the  like he was waiting for some reply when he asked nothing and posted a confusing comment.

It helps if people give more direct wording in their post, IMO. :diva:

Sure hope so - you are older than I and I knew it...

Hillary almost dug her grave with that statement...
