Awww, poor puppy. The owner seems genuinely torn up about finding it a new home. I had to laugh at how it has it's own room. He looks like a sweetie.

:roflmao: My sister has one of those monsters. Biggest wimp of a dog I have EVER met. It is terrified of me (just for the record, I have never been anything but loving towards this dog). If I am at the end of the table, standing between him and the door, he will go around the table the long way to go behind me to get to the door. He has always been this way with me, from the first time I met him.

Hello Vik

I can see that you are trying to get Rock a new home, I don´t understand why you haven´t contacted us as it says in the contract, and also why you decided not to give him away the last time where we found a nice home for him along with one of his brothers, but never mind that.

According to the contract you will have to contact us before finding him a new home and then we will help you find him a new home, since we are not in the USA anymore we have given those rights to the breeder from where we bought Rock´s mom, and that is Nancy Spiller, she will contact you and then she will take him into her home and provide Rock with a new home where he can spent the rest of his life amongst other mastiffs.

I really do hope that you do what is best for him and sign him over to Nancy.

intresting..... do you think maybe the last time Vic didn't think the home they found was all that appropriate?

i never liked those contracts anyway. When i got my dog from the animal shelter they made me sign one, but i would have NEVER taken her back to that place if i had to give her up. what was the point of rescuing her if i was jsut going to return her to the pound?

leaves lots of questions open on that dog....

now as far as returning....

I understand about not wanting to return to the shelter and there have been plenty of arguments about the contracts for rescues... BUT my contract says it comes back to me... why? so I'm positive it won't go back to the shelter or be at risk again, I'm commited to this animal the rest of it's life... BUT if you can't keep it and you have someone that wants it, so long as I can approve that it's a good home, I don't have an issue with that.

I'm really hoping something good is happing to this other mastiff though.

Krazd Kat,

No offense, but I have tried to go through a shelter to get a dog for the last six month. So far no luck. Now I know most are volunteers but for the most part, they always take at least a week to get back in touch with you. There is also a high payment and contract that you have to go through it is ridiculous. I am still looking for a good dog that will fit my family. So I have no qualms about somebody posting to rehome their dog to a good home.

i agree 100% with this. If you are truely trying to find good homes for pets then you wouldn't be asking $100's to adopt them out. If you are really in it for the pets you would adopt them out to people for free.

:lmao:Are you offering to pay the medical costs for each of these dogs, spay/neuter, heartworm test and treatment if needed, shots? Thanks! I'll PM you and let you know where to send the monthly checks.

I do not have a problem paying up to 300 dollars for a good dog. It is the waiting that is really getting me irritated. Or you call somebody they got listed as the contact and nobody call you back and by the time they do you had forgotten you even put in for that dog. I would think that the organization would be more quicker at getting dogs adopted so that the expenses do not effect them so much. I know that med, food, and supplies is money, but it seems like they are getting to attach to the animal and really don't want to let go. At least that is my opinion!!!!!!

OK, I agree with you then. I thought you were stating you were against having to pay by what you said in your last message about being free. I can understand the frustration of submitting an application or making a call and not getting a response within a week. I say a week because foster families are volunteers and most work outside of the house and are doing their best to try to keep up. Speaking only for myself, I always try to get back within a day or so but sometimes sickness, work, internet service being unavailable, etc happens. I wish you the best in finding your new companion. I know it will all be worth it in the end.

Check with Calvert Animal Welfare League. We got our dog from them and they were quick AND wonderful. She was $175, but I don't consider that much, since they had her vet checked and all her shots brought up to date and gave me some heartworm meds. And the dog is wonderful.

if you choose to resuce a bunch of dogs, then YOU are choosing to pay those costs.

I certainly am not going to pay the same amount for a "rescue" that i would for a pure breed puppy. Alot of times thats exactly what "rescues" are charging.

If you dont want to pay those costs, dont adopt them, leave them for others who are willing. why should i pay a middleman?

BTW, i got my last dog at tricounty animal shelter and paid all of the adoption and vet fees, less than 100 to start, ten years ago, but still
