DING this is why people have gotten that way....no one ever dares say anything. We have to be all Politically Correct and say "You seem to be motivationally and hygenically challenged because of some outside unknown influence" instead of "you are a lazy skeezbag."

Oh, I choose to not be around her because she is a skeezbag, don't think that she doesn't know what I have to say because I've said plenty around her other family members and my guess is...she's aware of it.

And come to think of it I did say things to her in the beginning. I tried to give her the old talk about it's ok to get help if need be as long as you are working towards standing on your own two feet and not staying on the system.

I have a cousin like that. Swears she can't work because of x wrong with her and her husband can't because he has y wrong with him...I have both x and y and have worked without interruption since I was 14.

But people who are on assistance are all individuals. Some may not have the skills (or even intelligence in some cases) to get above subsistance, some have just fallen on hard times, some know they can do better but gotta eat in the mean time... and of course those that abuse the system.

When my first husband walked out on me and my children he wasn't giving us money to live on. I had an attorney and it was set up to go thru Juvenile & Domestic Court but meanwhile everything was falling behind. I tried to get help - just temporarily - but was told unless he would sign something saying he wasn't paying us any money they couldn't help us. Sure! He was really going to do that! It was like a really bad joke.

I had fun with them because of my child's father and we were never even married. I complained that he was hiding income while supposedly disabled and awaiting social security approval. You know what they did? Called his house and asked his MOTHER if he was working odd jobs/under the table! Oh thank gawd all the child inheirited was his metabolism!

Now why would they go and bother his mother when they could just ask him for crying out loud? You just gotta wonder sometimes!
