On the forums over the past week, there have been post by those upset with Law Enforcement for one reason or another. But the truth is wether we love LE or hate them, they do what most of us refuse to or are to scared to do. They stand up for those they don't know, protect those they don't know, and most do this everyday with a good heart. This horrific ending is one faced everyday on every call they respond to.

Thank you to all LE on here for what you do! Our prayers go out to Trooper Browns family and friends!

Its just not PG who need guards, there's scumbags all around. You'd be surprised by the number of places that hire officers for security. Charles County which unfortunately is getting too many of these low lifes crossing the county line, has off-duty officers working in many different places, furniture stores, restaurants, Nicks of Clinton, (which also has off-duty at the Nicks in Prince Frederick), Bryantown Store and many other places.

This is so sad. It seems like you can't go anywhere anymore because trouble is everywhere. Thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.

Any place that is open after-hours can use a guard, unfortunately. Look at all the trouble that happens at Wawa/Sheetz after the bars close. The Denny's in my hometown in Cecil county always had an off-duty cop sitting there after midnight, too.

I recall some outrage a few years back when an IHOP security guard made the decision to shoot a dude that had skipped out on his bill and then attempted to run the security guard down with his vehicle as he tried to exit the parking lot. Some folks were screaming it was "overkill" on the part of the security guard and that poor, poor boy died over a measly food bill. That security guard is alive today because he made the decision to protect himself. Today's fatality proves that "poor, poor dudes" who skip out on their food bills aren't always just happy-go-lucky moochers and that sometimes cops have to shoot first and ask questions later. Period.

“There are a small number of brutal, cold people that would take another’s life without thinking about it,” O'Malley said. “That’s what happened here.”

Sad day indeed. Figure working security at a FAMILY restaurant would be one of the safest things he would be doing.
