Several things i can say about MSP. They DO thouroughly investigate their own, whether it's made public or not is another story. CID feels the same way most folks do...THEY ARE held to a higher standard. It's drilled into them at the Academy (which is six months IN HOUSE BTW). The disipline is appropriate, and usually harsh. This guy (I don't know him) is young, only 25 i think the article said, so he's fairly new out of the academy. If he's found guilty his career and the rest of his life probably, is a bust for a stupid mistake.

You folks need to learn to agree to disagree. We're not going to tolerate expletives or threats directed towards other members. If it becomes a habitual thing for some people, the temporary ban will be replaced with permanent deletion of the offender's account and posts (and all known MPDs).

This comment is ridicules, if you actually think like this; you must suffer from a mental deficiency. Let me get this right? You want an innocent woman with broken bones to be charged with a false claim for being hit by a DRUNK AZZ LOSER, and telling the truth. The person who did this is not someone who deserves to wear a uniform of a state trooper. He needs to be in jail with the rest of the SCUM who would hit a person and RUN. He is a low life and needs to loose his job and go to jail where he belongs. As far as this AZZ CLOWN being a person “who risks his life everyday to protecting us” I say BS. Yes it is sad, but it does matter if they get off Scott free or get jail time. If they go free it makes people hate the police and loose respect for all the GOOD cops out there. THESE TWO, yes I said TWO clowns need to be held to a higher standard then those of us who don’t wear a badge and SERVE AND PROTECT. These two clowns messed up and nedd to pay the price. I say being fired is not good enough. IF I DID IT I WOULD GO RIGHT TO JAIL. So why should it be different for these two idiots?

If you did it, you would be investigated just as he will be. And people would be saying things like this about you, well before you had your day in court too. Regarding the coments made on WHO would respond to the initial incident, there are a number of reasons that could have happened. Every incident occurs in a "jurisdiction" covered by specific authorities, and often the various agencies don't cross those lines unless specifically asked or needed (that's WHY they're there). So it's possible the incident occurred somewhere in a gray area, or the wrong agency was initially called in response to it. The 911 dispatcher USUALLY sorts it out when dispatching, but if someone KNEW the guy was a trooper and told the 911 dispatcher (?), the MSP may have been called BECAUSE he was a trooper, and MSP, thinking ahead, may have WANTED another agency to handle initially. Who knows, and unless you were THERE or made the call, i doubt you do either. Just a little more FYI on who responds to what and why when 911 is called. I believe the order, generally, depending on where it occurs, is city (town police), county (sherriff), state (MSP). IAD will most certainly handle it from the MSP standpoint, and certainly should (and will) pay for his crime, if one was committed. The same legal sequence will be followed to see that he does. JMHO.

I don't know him personally, and please refer to my earlier comments on who responds to what call and why. Sounds like the county initially offered the state the opportunity to handle it since it was one of their own, and the state did the RIGHT thing by deferring to another agency to get an impartial investigation started....These comments do not reflect the opinion of the resident officer...but it's his big mouth wifey....

The azz clown doesn’t want to take the same breath test he asks so many others to take. If you refuse a breath test you loose your license for 90 days. The way I see it if you aint got a license then you need to be fired, FIRED. That’s what they do with drunks that hit people and RUN. They get fired from a job that needs a drivers license.

And now many cases that trooper azz clown made arrests will now go free. Cause the state aint gonna let no drunk driving cop testify in any cases.

As I said before, this clown make ALL cops look bad and makes citizens loose respect for cops.

I know this used to happen in St. Mary's, don't know if they still do it ~ I have heard of PBJ- Probation Before Judgement. I know that the attorney's used to bargain this for first time offenders. I heard you are on probation for a while, if you keep your nose clean, you go back in front of the judge and they dismiss the charges and expunge your record. Do you think it is possible that this could happen in this case if they still do that? Also, (part II) Do you think that this is the correct thing to do for a first time DWI offender?
