I did the yellow cream satin and then sponged on sky blue over in my looooooooong hall(made it look smaller)....one coat of primer and one coat each of the other colors

Dark colors going on over light colors (i.e. navajo red over what I assume is Mikey's white wall) is almost guaranteed to take two coats. If he uses a high quality paint though, he might be able to do it with one.

Red is a tough color. PM the Wench. My sis and I used high dollah paint, red is just tough for coverage.

Mikey, you should use a tinted primer, as a rule, when you're painting a darker color. Here's a DIY forum discussion about painting red:

My aunt and uncle just did it in their guest room last year. I can inquire as to which paint they used, but it was probably from Lowes, American Traditions.
