My dumb mother tried that with me with liver. To her dismay, my will was stronger and I could go longer without eating than she could bear to have me not eat.

My grandson eats all sorts of things you wouldn't think a tiny kid would eat because like you said, that's all he's ever known. He's never been averse to new foods and you don't have to lie about what's in a dish to get him to eat it. Kids typically eat what their parents eat, unless it's something heinous like liver or stewed tomatoes, which is a sign of mental disturbance if you ask me.

My youngest had friends over yesterday and the topic of dinner came up. My son suggested meatloaf and by his friends' reactions, you'd think he had suggested liver or something like that. They all went, "Ewww... yuck!!"

What are you no longer allowed to eat because of Michelle Obama? I haven't heard of any food bans she has proposed. Fat kids should be eating vegetables instead of fries and chips, but I am unaware that they are banned from eating any crap they want.

If it upsets you so much for her to be suggesting you feed your children nutritional foods, that says more about you than it does about her.
Obviously you missed the news reports of her school lunch program being a total failure. Not only is she going around telling people what they should and should not eat, she implemented her little nanny advice into the school lunch program. Her little eat health program was a total failure that resulted in food being wasted and did not change children’s eating habit like she said it would.

I guess you want to live in a nanny state, where someone else is telling you what and how much of something you should be eating. Me, no, I don’t need some hypocritical pompous inept person telling me what I should or should not be eating. See, I’m a grown adult that can make decisions for myself and am smart enough to know what is right and what is wrong, I don’t need some hypocrite telling me how to live my life like some people do.

And who is she (and you) to be determining if some kid is fat and needs to go on a diet? You know the word bigot gets thrown around on this site a lot, be careful, you sound like you may be a bigot against fat people………..and I’m sure you are as skinny as a rail yourself……right?

As for her suggesting what I feed my kids, you still can’t understand my point even though I’ve written it in plain English that even a third grader would understand, you lead by example. You don’t tell someone not to do something and then turn around and do that thing yourself, it makes you look like a hypocrite and will nullify your points/action in a heartbeat. The only person who should be telling me what I should and should not be feeding my kids is their doctor……and no one else. You parent your kids, and I’ll parent mine and if you don’t like how I parent mine, that’s your problem and keep it to yourself.

Oh, and do you know how ironic post 32 is? You have no problem with Mooochele telling people what they should and should not eat but you say this;
Remember when Christy posted years ago that she let Z have ice cream and cake or some such for breakfast on her birthday, and the ####storm of hell she got from the Mommies of the World?
So you have no problem with Mooochele telling everyone what they should and should not eat but when someone else does it they are “Mommies of the World”.

And any kid who doesn’t like meatloaf is a damned Al Qaeda child uh (post 42), wow, how tolerant and understanding you are of kids with different tastes. Guess my kids are AQ kids (and the wife too) since the only person in my family who likes meatloaf is me, glad to know I’m raising future terrorist.

BTW, you have any more challenges?:coffee:

You've got that right! How often has she been on tv shows, etc.
When President Obama was re-elected, the first thing I thought of was, "Oh great, four more years of Michelle!" If she was white, I wonder how much news coverage, etc. she would have. No other first ladies ever made me sick to my stomach. They were never over-exposed like Michelle.

A.D.D. - I admit it. The stories my dad could tell. My sister left Fritos outside without the lid on it and the ants crawled all in the can. My dad told her to get the can and throw it away, instead she put it on the bar (too lazy to walk it upstairs to the trash can). Well... here I come, open the lid and start eating Fritos. My sister says in a snarky voice "how are the Fritos?" I look down and there are ants all over them and she is giggling. I beat her ass with that can and my father made me sit outside on the concrete stairs for beating up my sister. Well, there was a can of black spray paint sitting there so I painted a brick black. I thought I did a pretty good job but my father didn't appreciate my art work. I got my ass beat for that like eating ants wasn't punishment enough. It is still painted black after all these years.

I could actually tolerate creamed peas with pearl onions & succotash but OMG, I could never get stewed tomatoes past my tongue. My father would mixed stewed tomatoes and mac and cheese. I would have rather died than eat stewed tomatoes in any form. Even thinking about it now makes me cringe. I would cry and cry but my parents just went downstairs so they didn't have to listen to me whining upstairs while I sat in the corner - punished for not eating all my food. I think they often forgot about me because like mudpuddle, I sat up there many times until bedtime. My sister would have to sit in the corner whenever we had carrots or brussel sprouts for dinner because she didn't like either of them. I secretly enjoyed that because it meant *I* was off the hook.

When I got older I would lie and tell them I am having dinner at so-and-so's house whenever they served stewed tomatoes and sit in the woods until I knew dinner was over but I eventually got caught doing that and not only did I have to sit in the corner but I also got the belt.

I've been a member all these years and have never seen anyone post that they had to sit at the table for hours because they didn't eat all their food so :buddies: to mudpuddle. You know, I have never sat my children in a corner because they didn't eat their dinner. My oldest loves all fruits and veggies but my youngest tends to be a little picker.

I never made my children sit at the table when they didn't eat their food (of any kind). I had learned that this is a failed method. So sorry you kept getting the belt! I'm sure it scarred you for life--no, you actually make it sound funny! lol

I could never eat creamed vegetables of any kind-even to this day. So I never served my kids any foods that I couldn't eat myself!

My father did that to me over tomatoes. Every single time we had tomatoes, I had to sit in the corner and stare at it because I refused to eat them. Once, I picked the wallpaper off the wall and got my ass spanked with a belt. :bawl: It wasn't until I became an adult that I realized that tomatoes are okay but not with bread mixed in them. :ohwell: If it wasn't for salt and ketchup, I would have never survived childhood.
Tomatoes and bread? That sounds horrid!!! Must not have looked very appetizing either!

You are certainly right about that! I forgot, but then I was young when she was First Lady and never watched the news. Heck, I was just a kid. I never did understand the fascination with the Kennedy's, even until this day!

And I can't understand, when I see jewelry on QVC -(let's not hate me for watching that show! lol -I don't watch it that often. I like it because you really don't have to pay close attention to it, and you don't need a brain to understand it! lol)- that is fashioned after Jackie's jewelry.

With Michelle, it is not her jewelry that fascinates women, it is her arms! Do you realize that women are getting plastic surgery done on their arms?

Well I do try to target my jokes to the person I'm dealing with, next time I'll dumb them down a little bit more for you since I see you are not at that level yet.

So you wouldn't agree that they are perfect candidates that should practice healthier eating habit?

Gotcha.

Is that dumb enough for you?

I couldn't care less how much they weight, it's their choice and their body, what business is it of yours?

Why are you are such an angry person?

Who says I'm angry? I jus think what a person does is of no business to anyone else and I don't want anyone else telling me how I'm suppose to live my life. If you don't like the way I live my life then that's your problem and you should keep it to yourself. These days, it seems like everyone is in everyone elses business instead of worrying about their own.

I have no idea how you live your life and I don't give a flying fig what you, or anyone else, does with their lives. If someone thinks it is their business to tell me what to do or how to eat, I don't bother listening to them. I'm a big girl and make my own decisions. I certainly don't get all wrapped around the axle about it.
