My youngest had friends over yesterday and the topic of dinner came up. My son suggested meatloaf and by his friends' reactions, you'd think he had suggested liver or something like that. They all went, "Ewww... yuck!!"

Ruddy Duck has great meatloaf.

She has not outlawed one single food item that I am aware of. Therefore she is highly ignorable.

I suggest you stop watching Oprah and get more aware, this is the second time I've had to school you about what she is doing.

So it's okay for you to judge people but when I judge Mooochele, it's not okay, wow, that sounds like, um, yea, what's that word again..........oh yea, hypocrite.

And who said I'm fat, just because I'm against an issue doesn't mean I'm part of that issue, it's called principles.

I would ignore her if I could, hell I can't even watch ICarly with my youngest with out seeing her fugly face one there, or the grammy's. Hell, I can't even watch the Superbowl without seeing her idiot husband.

And I suggest you read your own links. What food has she banned? Just name one food item that she has decreed may no longer be eaten. Just one.

I see Barbara Bush's literacy campaign had no effect on you.

And let me highlight:
The standards — which cap meal calories at 650 for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, at 700 calories for middle school students and 850 for high school students — also dictate the number of breads, proteins, vegetables and fruits children are allowed per meal.

That's a lot of calories for ONE meal. How can they possibly be hungry after that? Now I'm curious how many calories the old lunches had, considering all the kids are starving to death on an 850 calorie lunch.

If they are in middle school and have that "bottomless pit", they might still be hungry...

But when my kids were in school (long time ago) and didn't like what was one the hot lunch menu, they made lunch at home and took it to school..

Can someone be charged for inciting a crime, or a riot without actually taking part in it other than feeding the frenzy?

thats what this hag is doing, she is running her mouth where it does not belong and causing the butt licking liberals in the schools to react.

she was not elected, she needs to shut the hell up and go scrub a toilet or something.

I really wish you would learn to do your own research and get familiar with the subject.

Michelle Obama’s signature 2010 legislation, the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFK), included rules that banned some foods, such as whole and 2 percent milk, and rationed others, such as potatoes and peas.
PULLMANN: Michelle Obama's school lunch program leaves children hungry - Washington Times

All milk served must be low fat, and for the first time the rules set limits on levels of salt and trans fats.

Sure as hell looks like her program banned whole fat and 2% milk, including most chocolate milks (you can research that on your own).

850 calories may be fine for you but what about those kids who play sports such as football, soccer, etc? Do you thing 850 calories is going to be enough to get then through the school day and a two/three hour practice. Why do you think a one size fits all approach is the right approach?

I guess you support nanny Bloomberg also.

That's only for school lunch programs. Kids are still free to drink liquid ice cream at home, or bring it in a sack lunch. Nothing has been banned, dear.

For ONE meal? Yes, I think 850 calories for ONE meal is way more than enough. If they need more fuel than that, why can't they bring snacks from home? Why do you think it's the school's responsibility to provide each kid with their daily food requirement PLUS snacks?

Your argument sucks. I would presume from your posts that you are against nanny government, is that correct? Then why are you in favor of schools having to provide kids with whatever junk food they might want to scarf? Why can't you parent your own child and give them chicken nuggets and pizza yourself rather than relying on the schools to give it to them?

Since when is chicken nuggets and pizza junk food? How many kids do you know eat steamed vegies?

If I wanted the school to restrict my kids diet I would tell them, it's not up to moochele or the school to dictate what my kids eat, it's my responsibility. If you don't want to your kids to eat chicken nuggets then parent them, don't turn over your parenting responsibility to someone else.

Having the school offer a wide variety of foods is called free choice, it's what this country is founded on.

And my argument sucks to you because you're losing the argument, get over it.

Changing the subject from food, what are your thoughts about Michelle being on the Oscars and presenting?
It ruined the whole night for me. I actually felt sick to my stomach when I saw her. I thought, what business did she have being there? She just wants to have that "star" status. She lives for attention. It is going to be interesting to see what she does when she leaves the WH. I heard some talk shows would be interested in her...I hope not!!!! I think America has seen enough of her!

She's our first lady, I expect her to be publically touted on the news at times. So it doesn't bother me.

I am so very blessed
I made my son's lunch this morning, as I do every morning. It took me less than seven minutes - I timed myself just to be sure.

Anyway, I made him his typical lunch, which he rarely eats in its' entirety.

I plugged the lunch items into MyFitnessPal.com to see the nutritional/caloric value. Pretty high in calories, but like I said, he rarely eats everything in his lunch. Sadly, the sammich is likely thrown away every day, but I would feel badly if I didn't at least give him the otion of eating it.

Here are his lunch numbers:

Lunch
Cal Carb Fat Prot
Martin's Sandwich Potato Bread - 2 Slices, 1 slice 80 15 1 4
Oscar Mayer - Beef Balogna, 2 slice 180 2 16 6
Kraft Singles American - Slice America Cheese, 2 Slice 120 4 8 6
Yoplait - Yogurt - Original Fat Free - Blueberry 170 33 2 5 Sargento - String Cheese (2% Milk), 1 Stick 50 1 3 6
Keebler - Soft Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies, 2 150 21 7 1
750 76 37 28

I can't get the columns to line up correctly in my past-in, but his calorie number for a typical lunch is 750 calories - I think that is a LOT!!! :gasp:

AND he doesn't eat it all. The sandwich he throws away is about half those calories. AND he's an energetic young boy.

If the kids in these silly news articles are still hungry after lunch it's because they don't eat the food they are given, not because it's not enough food.

When Larry's oldest got into her health kick in high school, she was packing for lunch:

carrot sticks
individual lite ranch dressing cup
1 bag of baked Lays
apple slices or some other pre-cut fruit
occasionally a yogurt instead of the fruit
several slices of turkey or ham deli meat turned into half a sandwich with one slice of bread

All told, maybe 450 calories and she was full. This was a girl almost 6' tall, weighing around 140 lbs, and 450 bulky calories satisfied her for lunch. And doesn't that sound yummy? Fruit, carrot sticks, a sandwich and a bag of chips.

It's not up to the government to provide kids with chicken nuggets.

Okay, nevermind. This right here tells me where you're coming from and that it's pointless to argue with you.
So, what you are telling me, is that you can't have an argument/debate with someone who doesn't agree with you?:coffee:

I'm so glad you and a few others like the one size fits all approach, remember that when someone says you must drive a smart car, can only have a 1200 square foot house, can only have one kid, and have to set your thermostat to 65 in the winter and 80 in the summer.

Also, doesn't pizza have flour, eggs, milk, cheese, meat, tomato's, and other vegetables? Doesn't chicken nuggets have chicken (which I swear is supposedly healthy for you), flour and eggs? Tell me what is so bad about them?

Most of the time, it's not what you eat, it's how much you eat, one or two slices of pizza isn't bad, eating a large pizza in one sitting is. Having 4 to 6 chicken nuggets for lunch isn't bad, eating a 20 piece McNugget for lunch five days a week is.

Just because your kids what to be fanatical health nuts doesn't mean everyone should be, if they want to eat rabbit food for lunch that's there choice, if I want to allow my kid to have chicken nuggets at school is my choice. If you would even bother to look at the schools lunch menu, they offer TWO choices of entrees so if you don't want little Jimmy or Jane to have chicken nuggets they can something else.

And it's kind of funny how all of a sudden, school lunches have become very unhealthy over the past four/five years yet they have been improving them over the past 15/20 years since we went to school. If our lunches were so bad back then I would think we all would be dropping like flies from heart disease, diabetes and clogged arteries. It's not the food our kids are eating that is making them fat, it's the lack of exercise. This is due to a combination of several factors,

1) Parents are too lazy/busy to make their kids to go out and play, they don't want to sit outside to watch them so it's easier to let them lay on the couch watching TV/playing video games.

2) When you do let your kids go out to play, you have to watch them like a hawk because you don't know where the sexual predators are thanks to our liberal justice system and people who think sexual predators have a disease and that they can be cured.

3) Failure of parents to teach their kids to respect others property, and failure to neighbors to be tolerant of kids out playing. When I was a kid I had the run of the neighborhood, we played in everyone yard, jumping fences and playing hide n' seek in the neighbors bushes. None of them complained because we didn't break anything, we didn't run threw flower beds, we didn't tear up anything. If we did happen to damage something, we told the neighbors and we fixed it or replaced it, we didn't hide it or lie about it. Now a days, if some kids steps foot on a neighbors finely manicured lawn they are out there in 5 seconds threatening to call the cops and threatening to sue the parents for damages.

So don't tell me that a few slices of pizza or some chicken nuggets make kids fat, what make kids fat is the policies we as parents have allowed to be put in place concerning property, sexual predators and allowing kids to be kids.

As I've said, you parent your kids the way you feel is right and I'll parent my kids the way I feel is right. Neither is wrong, just different and if you can not accept that people do things differently then how truly tolerant that you claim to be?

The problem I have with Mooochele, and liberals in general), is that they push their views and values on everyone, and if you don't agree with those values and views then you are instantly a racist, bigot, evil, stupid, immoral, etc, etc, etc.

As Vrai can tell you.
I raised my daughter to come up with her own views on the issues.
and, as my poor luck would have it, she does not agree with me on everything.

I should have beat her more.
